Singapore noodles were good. Plenty of curry, good noodles, solid dish Pork bun is huge! Filling was solid Soup dumplings were... good, but they didn’t give me the right spoon and it was kind of hard to eat without losing the broth. Regular dumplings weregood. The wrappers were thicker than I’m used to. Can’t decide if that was good or not. Other than the dumplings being alittle different nothing blew my mind. I’d probably try other places first. Read more
First time here and loved the food!!! The soup dumplings were absolutely delicious!!! I recommend them the most. The fried rice... was way more flavorful than any fried rice I've had before. I will definitely come back. Read more
Satisfied a craving. From New York and haven't gone out for dim sum since the pandemic started. Nom Wah in Manhattan is always... crowded and the outdoor seating is packed. We're glad that we had a chance to dine in here. We went around 6pm and there were only two other tables with patrons. By the time we left, all the tables and bar area was filled. All the food was deliciousexcept for the rice roll with shrimp. The shrimp was on the smaller side and not seasoned. Again, everything else was great. Weordered around 11 dishes. Made a quick trip to Philly to get some eats. I had tasked my niece to find a dim sum place to try and it was between Nom Wah... and Dim Sum Garden. I had looked at the menu for Dim Sum Garden and thought it didn't have everything we wanted, so we calledand made a reservation for Nom Wah. I should have read the other reviews more carefully and seen the more recent reviews. Ialso should have looked at the menu more carefully and noted that they didn't have certain things I'd expect to see at a dim sumplace. Giving 3 stars, but the more I think about it, it could slide to 2.5. It's a bit expensive for what we got. The food -some of it was good. Some of it was mediocre. None of it was great. The fried tofu skin was very little tofu skin and it hadcheap filler veggies stuffed inside. The siu mai were dense. The pork ribs in black bean sauce was tough and chewy. There was alittle bit of that pork taint to it that the black bean couldn't mask. Shrimp crepe and bread stick crepe were good. The hargow was good. We also had the chicken feet, scallion pancake and bean sheet rolls. Niece said the chicken feet was ok. Thescallion pancake was super thin and I've had better with getting the frozen pancakes at the Asian food store and cooking them upat home! Bean sheet rolls were ok. But again, cheap filler veggies inside. There should have been some mushrooms for flavor. Thesteamed pork bun was one single bun. Large in size. It was good in taste though. The roast pork inside was not too sweet. Nexttime I look for dim sum places in other areas, I'll have to make a note to look for Cantonese places. Read more
If you are looking for really good, authentic dim sum in Philadelphia, this is the place to go! We were very happy with the... service, the delicious food and the amazing and appropriate prices. While looking for dim sum places in Philadelphia, I was extremely excited to find out that they have Nom Wah here as well. We... ordered a bunch of different dim sum and all of them were great. My family and I really enjoyed it. We also ordered their friedrice. It came late and I was already full. My brother said it was okay. The place is very small and has limited seating. Theydo not accept reservations, as far as I know. Come as soon as they are open or after the lunch hour rush. Prices are veryreasonable. They accept cards as well. Read more
To my surprise, the best part about this dim sum place (which is not famous for the flavor of spicy) is their spicy source. I... usually do not add spicy source when having dim sum. But this time, I added it to almost every plate except the sweetbuns. Personal recommendations are: shrimp and snow pea dumplings, stuffed eggplants, shanghainese soup dumplings, steamedspare ribs, and steamed bean curd skin roll. They are so busy that when we order the second round, we have to wait for 20minutes. The taste is good, with the spicy source a plus. The only regret is that some of the dumpling skin is a bit dry. Maybebecause it is too thick or it has been out for a little while. Overall it is not expensive so acceptable. Read more
Coming here was a wonderful experience. My dad was visiting me from out of town and we decided to explore Chinatown and have... lunch. We stumbled upon this lovely establishment and were taken by surprise how exquisite each dish was. They have a widevariety of teas with a strong selection of green teas. I see myself coming back here regularly to relax drink tea and enjoytheir dim sum. While everything was amazing what really stood out to me was their pork bun. It was the best I’ve had in myentire life with its moist and soft exterior and juicy and bursting filling. Read more
