This place has been around forever and always visited by tourist but they don't have a ton of patience for first timers. It's... designed to pick up and keep it moving. Parking in the area is quite difficult. The grill is on all day and depending on yourorder they'll add onions or whatever you asked for serve it to you ultra fast. The food was pretty good almost exactly what Iexpected. I learned that in Philly, American cheese is default white American cheese not the yellow. They DO accept credit ordebit card payments for a surcharge of 3%. Overall, it was good. Read more

Incredible! Five stars. A local favorite and definitely a favorite for tourists. Parking may be a challenge on a busy... weekend, but don't let that discourage you. Enjoy the entire experience from the journey getting there, waiting in line, placing your order, and eating your first Philly Cheese Steak. Read more

The best Cheese Steak Sandwich you can get! The fries are underrated! This place is a must visit when travelling down the... eastern coast. The restaurant just feels original and you can see and taste that they have been doing their business for manyyears. The sandwich was perfect. And also the fries are extremly tasty so do not miss them! We would love to come back here onour next trip. Keep going! Read more

My friend and I decided to do a taste test between the 2 dueling Philly Cheese steaks. Pat's and Geno's. There are kiddie corner... from each other which was convenient. While my friend disagreed with me, I felt Pat's was far superior in taste. Pat's usessharp provolone, chopped steak and fried peppers and onions that seem to have a sweetness to them with a hint of spice -possibly paprika. Whatever it was it was fantastic!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! Read more

Not my first time in Philadelphia but was my wife's so we were doing tourist things. I made sure she would get to experience... different sandwiches on this trip !!! It would be incomplete without the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Had to try Geno's steaksas it is popular. We decided to give them a try (split the sandwich) then head to the competition and do the same. Definitelynot disappointed with the decision.. We went for the Wit peppers and onions steak with shrooms, provolone....and oh my, it wasso delicious!!! I added some peppers for extra kick and it was perfect. I highly recommend. Only negative... it?s cashonly. Line wasn't long when we got there. Pro tip the have a line just for sandwiches They also have a line just for fries anddrinks. Really loved Pat's! Super quick service, prices ranging from 10-20 USD, great service. Got the Philly with extra Provolone, it... was amazing! Had to use Pat's spicy sauce and some chili's they had to add a kick to it. Note: they only take cash. Read more

While this place has Philly steak that can taste good drenched in cheese whiz, I had mine without any cheese and just with... mushrooms and onions so I can taste the quality of the meat, the bread, etc. The sandwich was tasty but I would not say it isthe best Philly cheese steak out there. This place is just now a tourist attraction and they make their money from being famousbut they are just downright rude. Maybe they are just playing their part being "south Philly". I also tasted Geno's sub andliked their bread better as it was softer, their onion was cooked better with more flavor and their meat was of better quality.Geno's was a cleaner place, more updated and quality of entire sub and everything that went into it was of better quality eventheir napkins were better and thicker. The people at Geno's were nicer. Pat's subs were bigger and if it is drenched in cheesewhiz it can make it tastier I suppose. Read more

Sometimes you can be a victim of your own success. Pat's, the originator of cheesesteaks, is the king of steaks on this corner.... But of course, there are now even better examples elsewhere. But forget that - there's something about coming here and tryingthe sandwiches against each others. Pat's beats Geno's. And while you're enjoying that cooked steak with gooey cheese, that'sall that matters. Worth a visit for sure. Read more
