Nice place, pretty good pizza. We got the Margherita & the spicy sausage. The Margherita was excellent and the spicy was good... but the spiciness is a bit too much and takes over all the other flavors. Which if you’re into that then you might like it.Overall would stop by again! Read more

Was looking for a good pizza, thin crust with great mix of toppings. Saw this on Yelp, and decided to try it out. Wood fired... oven, really produced an excellent pizza! We enjoyed the sasuage pizza which enjoyed a little pesto kick with long hot peppersground in. The roasted beets with Barratt on a bed of arugula greens was delicious. This is a nice pizza place. I liked their pistachio pizza although in general I am not a huge fan of rosemary. In their... margarita the marinara was really nice but a bit too watery. Their fried calamari was crispy although the portion a bit tiny bitsmall. The gelato unfortunately wasn't exceptional. Kind of mediocre. I would visit again to try another of their pizzas. The value for money is pretty good and some of their pizzas are interesting flavor-wise. The space is nice and their prices arefair. Their service is good as well. Could the pizza be a bit better? Yes. The gelato could have been a lot better actually. Butall in all I am satisfied with the experience. Read more
We searched and searched for the "best pizza in Philly". We asked a dozen locals and got about 6-7 different places. So we... tried Pizzeria Stella based upon their menu and reviews. WE LOVED IT! We tried 3 different pies and all were great. But theone with arugula and prosciutto was beyond great! The pepperoni was good too! The beet salad appetizer was delicious and theoctopus was solid. To top it off their homemade gelato was great! The olive oil one was a surprising hit and the mascarponeand honey and chocolate pistachio were really good. The blood orange sorbet was really good too. Service was really good, andthe wine choices were also just what we wanted! Overall 5 stars and we will be coming back! Full disclosure: Pizzeria Stella wasn't my destination when I set out for dinner in the neighborhood just across I-95 from... Penn's Landing. Even fuller disclosure, I'm overjoyed that I "stumbled" upon this dining gem. April guided me through themenu, as it was my first venture into this stellar joint; she made several recommendations, answered my questions withconfidence, and ensured that my entire visit was thoroughly enjoyable. I started with the Romaine salad (minus the cherrytomato & mint), which was dressed with a house vinaigrette and ricotta salata that has to be tasted to be believed! The 'Ndujapizza, aka #7 on the menu, is a white pie with Calabrian sausage, smoked mozzarella and fresh oregano. Made in house, thesausage has one of the most amazing flavor profiles I've ever tasted. To finish a most spectacular meal, I went with a freshcup of piping hot coffee and a scoop of the Stracciatella gelato ... mmmmmmmm. this pizza was definitely one of the best i've had in the city. if you like thin and crispy, doesn't get any better than this.... the classic pepperoni is what i went with, and it was delicious. i also tried the gelato for the first time, and i could'veordered another five of them - it was that good!
