I don't know why I waited this long to eat here. I've only heard good things about it, but I finally stopped in this morning. I... was there early when they opened on a Sunday and they were pleasant and welcoming. We had our dog with us so Beto happily setupthe outdoor seating. He even brought water out for her. Having lived in Texas for 4 years before moving to Philly, I've beenlooking for good authentic Mexican (not Central American) food. This is one of the best spots in the Fishtown/OldeKensington/NoLibs neighborhoods! My fiancee got the lengua tacos and I did the Pancita/Menudo. The tripe and broth were socomforting. I was disappointed to not see breakfast tacos on the menu, but no fear, our super accommodating server Beto asked mewhat I wanted and had the kitchen make me a single huevos a la mexicana taco con chorizo. Their salsa verde is fresh andaddicting. I normally don't care for salsa roja but the chiles they use in it are smoky and I ate more of it than I usually do.Their chips were also fresh and not stale, and the addition of cotija cheese with the broth from refried beans drizzled on topof the chips was delicious. It was my first visit and I can say right away that I am definitely coming back! The service is great and food is awesome! I... had a Steak Burrito, while my girlfriend had Steak, Chicken and Pork Tacos. The steak was flavorful and not overcooked. Thetacos were excellent, especially the pork taco with pineapple! There is plenty of seating for friends and family to dine. Whilewe were there we saw a lot of "to go" orders being picked up. Read more
