I have to say, Sumo Sushi is my absolute FAVORITE sushi place I've ever been to. I tried a bunch of different sushi places in... Philly, some in New York, some in other states, but Sumo Sushi is still my favorite. I ate here often when I lived in Philly andI miss it so much now that I'm far away! I think of this place, the food, and the employees often... Such amazingly delicioussushi, they have good prices, and the people who work here are SO NICE!! I miss it so much and I try to go every time I visitPhilly. Was just grabbing quick lunch here, but so impressed by the rolls. Will def come back more.
Got takeout here for dinner last week. They offer brown rice for rolls which is awesome. I got a salmon roll, a tuna roll, and a... yellowfin roll. Total was around $22 and it was amazing. Fish seemed fresh and the rice was well cooked. Would definitely eathere again. Edit: went here again and was not impressed. Fish didn’t taste as fresh and was more tough than before. Guess itjust depends on the day. Would still eat here again but definitely wasn’t as good as the first time. Read more
For a vegeterian, I think they have some good options. Reasonable pricing (especially lunch combo) and love their sweet potato... roll. They tempura fry it and put a sweet sauce on top. The best sweet potato sushi I've ever had. Their mango avocado sushi istasty as well. Read more
Best prices for sushi in the area. The happy lunch special makes me happy. I've eaten here every day for two years and food... was always fresh, consistent and delicious. Jason one of the chefs is always so welcoming, he really knows how to load up myikura handrolls. I love this place. Read more
I have to say I make a much better soup. There's was not to good. Not much flavor. But the sushi is made right there in front as... you. It was very good. The Dragon roll was awesome! Its the one in the picture with avocado on top with sauce. I'd go thereagain just for the Dragon roll itself! Had to edit this. Sumo sushi is the best!!!!! I have since tried about 15 other sushiplaces that can't compare to Sumo sushi. Other places were not consistent. But this place always awesome! Read more
Long wait for three rolls. Over an hour. Waitress never refilled water. Other food was laying out waiting at the sushi bar for... more than 30 minutes. The presentation when it comes to your table is amazing though. Taste is also on point as well. This is amixed review, I know! Read more
Ordered Sumo Sushi via DoorDash for a Friday dinner. My girlfriend and I split a Seaweed Salad and three signature rolls - Green... Dragon Roll (our favorite roll), a Nagoya Roll, and Yummy Roll. The sushi was not terrible but it was not my favorite. Thetextures of the rolls became a bit soft and mushy; when trying to pick up rolls with chopsticks, they collapsed on themselves.It could have been from the delivery time but I typically order sushi delivery and have not had this issue from other places.The Seaweed Salad was fairly standard. On the positive side, their prices do seem to beat others in the area. For now though,I’ll stick with a few places I enjoyed more like Tsuki Sushi, Machi Sushi Bar, Fuji Mountain, Engimono, and Kansai. Read more
