Stumbled across this gem with my girlfriend this past weekend—what a lovely find! Nice, chill atmosphere, food was excellent,... and our server Wendy was the best! We will be returning; I hope you all give it a visit too. Read more

This since my first visit over 30 years ago, always offers a simple yet elegant experience. You enter off the busy avenue of... shops and close by eateries to quiet, calm friendly atmosphere with jazz playing softly, exquisite service, great tasty freshmade food and superb spirits of drink. In summer cool and winter a warm crackling no invasive fireplace. Service, professionaland friendly with smiling pleasure. Easily priced and just perfect!! I had a great Afternoon today as I have always. Read more

Help run an outdoor/adventure club. We hike every Wednesday and always go out afterwards for food/drinks. Went out of my way... this week to find a spot in Chestnut Hill for us to gather, since we normally don't go there and since a lot of places close at9pm. Showed up, and lone bartender was clueless about our reservation. Had first spoke to someone weeks ago on the phone (weweren't looking for any special treatment - just order off the menu and possibly to sit together if they could accommodate us).Bartender managed to get person on the phone I contacted and even had a phone conversation with and they were surprised weshowed up because I didn't call them a second damn time despite me emailing them two days ago that I'd be bringing 10-15 people.Sign out front also says "new summer hours" to 10pm and they were closing when we walked in at 8:50pm. Like - okay - not exactlydropping 15k but why do so many places today not want to make money? Knew it was a problem when person insisted on a phone callafter first contact. Like I'm not asking for a wedding or funeral lunch in. Just wanted space and a "reservation" if possible. It's the 21st century Karen! Read more

My wife and I loved the classic decor. It reminded us of a cozy pub in Ireland. And just like the nostalgic atmosphere, there... was something understated and refined about the food. The crab soup was delightful. I had the tuna melt and my wife had theturkey, cranberry, and brie sandwich. Overall, I enjoyed how the chef experimented with classic American dishes and sandwiches.Their attention to detail and friendly staff will bring us back. Pictured is a deconstructed key lime pie. Highly recommend thisplace. Read more

Very nice place. Very good cheesesteak. They don't kill you on the price. But this cheesesteak was oily. Very nice bar. ... Nice heavy wood decor. I guess it's what you would expect for Chestnut Hill. But not a killer Chestnut Hill price. I reallywant to love this cheesesteak but it was oily. The bartender said they have a pepper medley / concoction so I got it on mycheesesteak. I assume the oil came from that. The roll was good and it held together nicely. The meat was a nice thickerslice and more of a shred than a chop and it’s flavor came through in a very flavorful cheesesteak. The peppermedley/concoction was very flavorful, nice big thick chunks like I like but where the heck did all that oil come from. I wentwith provolone cheese and I'm really glad. This cheesesteak needed a heavy cheese. I am pretty sure I had a very goodexperience but where did all that darn oil come from. Read more
