This was our first time here and it was amazing! My dad drove almost 2 hours to Philly to come fix my car in this heat, so we... wanted to go to lunch but weren't planning on staying long. We decided to give The Black Taxi a try and it was phenomenal. It'sreally quiet on a side street, and we were able to sit outside and enjoy ourselves. The food was amazing and everyone was sosweet. My dad went inside to ask if we could sit outside and said a bunch of people immediately welcomed him. Even after workingon my car for a few hours in the heat, my dad said he would happily sit there and drink all day AND come back to Philly just togo here! That says so much. Friendly staff and a great spot to watch some football. Good selection of draft and cans and really solid food that I can go out... of my way to get. Irish breakfast and chicken cheesesteak are some of the highlights. Read more
After a long day of walking around Philadelphia, my family and I decided we needed libations and something filling. We looked on... google for places around the neighborhood and decided Black Taxi was our ticket. This ended up being an amazing decision. Fromthe other customers, the kitchen staff, to the front of house, everyone was terrific. This is the Irish Cheers. They helped meand my husband get our sleeping kids in to sleep in a booth and then stored our giant stroller so we could finally relax. Thecocktails were so refreshing. We had the Taxi Crush, Barrys Irish Tea, and the Hendricks Lemonade. My favorite was the TaxiCrush. It reminded me of an orange crush and was so refreshing. For food we had the Taxi Burger, Fish and chips, and the FlakyFish Sandwich. The burger was cooked to order and a perfect medium. The batter on the fish was so flavorful and everything thatbeer battered fish should be. The coleslaw is nice and vinegary. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a goodlunch or dinner or in need a of a great cocktail to beat the heat. I wish we could bring the bar and the atmosphere home withus. Read more
I enjoyed meeting meal here. The server was so sweet and so tolerant. His accent was so dear! We had a bunch of people and just... sort of bombarded them. The food was excellent. I got the signature burger and loaded fries. So tasty! Read more
Obsessed they had sausage rolls here! I?m from England and missed those delicious snack rolls and this was the closest thing to... them! My friends got the HIGHLY recommended Philly Cheesesteak. I tried a bite and it was definitely delicious and filling(lol). Service was awesome and so was the atmosphere. I?ll be back again when visiting Philly ???? Read more
Best Fish and chips I've probably ever had. Fish IS fresh! It was so soft and succulent; perfect, crispy batter. Skin-on,... hand-cut chips were also delicious. They provided genuine, British Heinz malt vinegar too! It was better than the last fish andchips I had in England in 2010. I actually wanted to get photos of the chips but I was so balled over by how authentic anddelectable the fish was, I just tucked in! I paid $25 with a modest tip. A little pricey by my standards but worth everypenny. I sat at the bar and had great service, even got to chat with a couple of real Irishmen. They took Google pay which isalways more convenient. With the number of pubs in the area it must be some feit to edge ahead of the competition, but BlackTaxi is ahead by far. Don't miss this if you're visiting Philly. Read more

Food was great! Sausage rolls and fries were fantastic. Beer was on the warm side and the service was slow. Seemed liked only... 2 waitresses for all of the outside tables. Inside was shoulder to shoulder so they may have just been overwhelmed. Wedefinitely would return, within walking distance from Eastern State Penitentiary. Read more
