Barrio Queen has a nice atmosphere. It reminds me of a Mexico City type of restaurant but serves Sonoran fare. The chips are... thick and the salsa is good! There?s a good selection of tequilas and the prices are probably higher than average for similaritems yet I still find myself coming back. Wow, what can I say about how disappointed I am in the restaurant and the staff. So the food was not terrible for me. I had the... carne asada burrito it was $19.50 for something you'd find at chipotle for way less. My Mother ordered a taco and asked for ayellow corn tortilla because she doesn't care for blue corn. They got it wrong. Also, it wasn't even a taco, it was more like atostada. The soup had very little flavor and was all rice. Missing the broth. She ended up just eating her avocado that was inher soup. Now, she had taken maybe half a bite of the "taco" and had to send it back. Well, that is when our waitress ValentinaFINALLY made it back to us. I also had a small margarita that was over priced for a meh drink. When the bill came they hadcharged $6 for the taco and given back $5. We had paid but then asked the waitress about it. Just to preface, we didn'tunderstand why they would charge for something they made in error. Essentially, she said "well, it's just a dollar. It's themanager who decided" and she walked off. I cannot even stress how RUDELY she spoke. I would never recommend this restaurant toanyone, unless you're looking for rude service, bloated prices and sub par food. Read more
This place is beautiful. It is very clean. And the staff is extremely hospitalable and friendly. I went there with some family... members. The ones that ordered the tacos seem to enjoy their food the best. I ordered the teca burrito. That burrito is madewith beef ribs. The meat was pretty dry, I had to drown it in sauce to make it tolerable. It felt like the meat might have beencooked a while ago and just kept warm. Some of the other plates that were ordered had the same problem with the meats being alittle on the dry side. Read more
I. Am. Obsessed. Not sure who is responsible for making the best horchata on the planet, but I might need to marry them. The... tacos a perfect dance of all different flavors and the queso makes you keep eating till you're overstuffed, but can't put itdown because it's so good. The whole vibe of this place is ON, every corner you look there is beautiful decoration and art andit's just a sight to see. The staff is so pleasant and friendly and they are all just epic, every single time I comehere. Ironically I bumped into this place by accident, by looking for another place that doesn't exist anymore and I am so soso so glad that's how this went. My new place to go, Gracias Barrio Queen ?? The atmosphere and design of this restaurant is wonderful and thoroughly enjoyable! Unfortunately, the food is overpriced for... being bland and smaller portions. 3 ??s out of 5 because our meal came out lukewarm, food quality did not match the price, andthe rice & beans had no flavor. I ordered a shrimp taco ????, taco de nopales ????, and a carne asada taco ????. Originally, Ionly ordered 2 tacos and when they arrived they were very small tacos ???? so I decided to try something else. The shrimp wasseasoned well, but over cooked. The taco de nopales was pretty good just not enough nopales. Lastly, the carne asada taco (notpictured). The meat was chopped really small and kind of tough, but it did have better flavor than everything else. The aguafresca de pina was really good and highly recommend! Fantastic food and service. Our server, Dante, was excellent. She was very personable and checked up on us a lot. Food was... really good too. My burrito was very flavorful and my mom?s protein bowl was very refreshing. The aesthetic of the place wasalso super dope. Definitely come try this place out! Read more
Not bad, but I have had better. Much better. We stopped in for a quick late lunch, but this was not quick. The waiter was... busting it, but they were so short staffed I felt bad for him. He did as best he could, but serving the entire patio and doingtable side quac, he was just over whelmed. The food was OK, but not really worth the wait. The enchiladas had good flavor butwere very dried out and not hot when they arrived. The soup (pazole) as well was tepid and really lacked that long cookflavor.
