BEWARE: I have never been so insulted as I was in my life when dealing with the owner of this business. We are an italian... family and have been throwing large weddings and events and using reception halls since my family arrived in Canada. We haveused Casa Reception for 3 family celebrations before this instance. Each time the procedure was the same. Your negotiate aprice, make a deposit and then after the event our are billed and pay. Well yesterday for my cousin's engagement party thingswere drastically different. With no warning or notice, the owner demanded full payment at 15 mins before the start of the event.Threatening to cancel our party if it someone didnt make the entire payment. They cited new policies post pandemic as thereason. THEY HELD OUR EVENT HOSTAGE AND DEMANDED IMMEDIATE PAYMENT BEFORE ANY FOOD OR SERVICE WAS OFFERED after my uncle hadpaid their deposit. Has the service industry lost their mind? Is this they way we do business now. Take a credit card on file,ask for a bigger deposit or at the very least inform your clients of your non-industry standard policies. The post pademicbacklog of businesses for Halls will end and I recommend stronly our find somewhere else to host your party. The do not careabout their clients at all and the owner was extremely agressive, rude and arrogant. EDIT: THE OWNERS ANSWER BELOW IS TOTALLYINDICITIVE OF HOW RUDE AND UNCARING THERE ARE. The point was not what you did but how you did it. Instead of informing us ofyour policy or asking for payment you waited till the day of and held us hostage by saying you could cancel if the event was notpaid before hand. My uncle deserved the option to choose a different hall based on knowing our policies. I think anywhere thatdemands payment in full in advance of a meal does not have confidence in its level of service or quality of its meals. Read more
Very, very disappointing! My niece and her future husband had their engagement party at this hall. The owner was very rude and... disrespectful, demanding payment for the event in advance, saying if payment was not made immediately, he would close down theevent. He held the guests hostage and did not even start prepping the cocktails until he had the payment made. There is no hallthat does this and this WAS NOT part of the agreement. Deposit was paid in advance. Father of the future bride had no choicebut to pay for the entire event in advance!!! THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO DO BUSINESS!!! one star is too much! Read more

Sevice was good, chicken was too salty, bathroom was not very clean.
The perfect little hall for small parties or events. I personally didn't do business with them but had an amazing experience... when I attended a civil wedding at this location. Everything looked modern and up to date. The decor was done by a third-party.Food was provided by an external catering service but the servers and their service was good. Well I had a surprise party to organize and 2 weeks to do so and due to a suggestion is a friend that hosted a party at Casa... Reception 2 years prior I decided to go ahead . The booking went smooth with Alex who is extremely organized and helpful.Theeven was nothing but flawless . So I?m short description Casa Reception has many rooms and nicely located apart , with beautifulambiance light and interior. It is super clean all the way from the reception entrance to the washrooms. Tables and chairselegantly set up. Food - reading some reviews I had my doubts - Rest assured-the portion are huge , food is well presented andit?s delicious. Not one complaint from the whole party . Absolutely disgusted with this place. My family has had many events here and has never been so disgusted. A few months prior to... the event, we sat with the manager and discussed a menu which we had paid a deposit on. A week before the event, the managercalls to ask us what we want in terms of appetizers, even though our contract has all of the information listed. I kindlyemailed him all of the details we had spoken about. He then informs me that certain items would need to change due to thelettuce price increase, whatever. Two days prior to the event, he calls me again and asks the SAME question, what appetizers,salad and pasta do you want? So I told him that we had already discussed this and he said he didnt have the contract in front ofhim The day of the party, about an hour before, he informs me that we need to pay up front at that moment or he was going toshut the party down, as I am setting up for the event. Having spoken to this man numerous times in the previous months, he hadnever mentioned this once and we had always paid AFTER our events happened. We had agreed on seating arrangements and seatingcharts as well, only to find out that the tables had less seating than discussed and in the middle of the party we had to add anextra seating to each table. The appetizers did not come out for almost an hour and a half, the pasta was NOT what we hadagreed on (and quite frankly tasted awful) and on top of EVERYTHING, we had agreed on beef medallion and chicken as the mainmeal, the hall WITHOUT TELLING US, served PORK to our guests. Some individuals have dietary restrictions due to culture orpersonal choices, and the hall did not inform anyone of this switch. On top of that, the wait staff was taking videos ofthemselves during the party, eating from our sweet table with their bare hands and the owner/manager (not sure) was randomlystanding near the bar making many people uncomfortable, glaring at them.
