At looks its an old building the humble building of old main street building bricks ,but it was a great environment friendly,... timely,and great presentation . We had he special which was country fried steak and sideS the steak and gravy and real creamedpotatoes was a real treat.I personally didn't care for the slaw but if you like mayonnaise you might .But honestly can say ,itwas a great place to dive in for eats . Absolutely delicious homemade food. Great atmosphere, super friendly staff and a huge selection of dishes. We had a the muther... clucker and fried bologna sandwich, as well as the fried pork chops and all were absolutely delicious. We will definitely comeback and also check out the breakfast because we have heard great things of it! Read more
Excellent food! Best fish I?ve ever had. ( although they only serve it certain days). Homemade burgers like your granny made! We... enjoyed everything we ordered. Waitress was friendly and checked back to make sure our tea was refilled and asked if we wanteddessert. They had fresh coconut pie that was just like grandmas. I can?t say anything negative. This place was a pleasant surprise. Really yummy food. We tried the fried chicken salad with wine/cheese dressing, which was... delicious. We also tried the Philly sandwich, which had good meat and cheese but needed a stiffer bread. We had the fried cheeseballs, which I would highly recommend, since it has pepper jack cheese, making it different than normal with a little kick. Wefinished the meal with strawberry cake, which was moist and flavorful. Although the server was excellent and prompt, she wasdoing everything herself: hostess, waitress, server, bus boy and cashier. Since it was busy when we were there, it seemed likeshe was overwhelmed while running around trying to do everything herself. I stopped by the Hen House Cafe for lunch. It was Fried Chicken Day, and I ordered the white chicken breast with black eyed... beans, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes and gravy. Afterwards, I enjoyed a piece of the strawberry cake. It was delicious! Read more
