My two coworkers and I stopped in 07Oct2022 during our lunch break. It was my first time eating hwre. Food was okay, nothing to... really rave about. I got some kind of chicken burrito off the lunch special, little disappointed that it didn't have any lettuceor other veggies in it as it just gave the meal an overall texture of being "mushy." Was on the bland side as well as I couldn'treally taste much of any seasoning. Salsa was really good though. Atmosphere was cozy enough. For the price, you may just wantto go to Tijuana Flats instead. Read more

This is one of my families favorite places to eat. This time I went with one of my daughters and my granddaughter. They were... here from Michigan. Whenever my daughter comes down it is the first place she wants to go to eat. I do not know of any otherplace where you can get a white cheese sauce. It is delicious. Love the food. The atmosphere is very nice. The waiter wasprompt and very nice. We like how they bring out chips and dip to munch on while waiting on our food. If you want real Mexicanfood, this is the place to go. I haven't been to Carmelita's in years, so I decided to give it a try after having been so long. I have to say, the quality of... food has gone down or at least it's not as good as I remember it being. So that, along with the fact that my plate was sowithered/worn down/had a dirty looking effect to it, AND about three bites in I pulled a long blonde hair out of my food; myappetite was ruined and the entire experience was quite off putting. Although the waitress apologized and deducted it from mybill, I know I'll never be dining here in the future. I'm only giving it two stars because the complimentary chips and salsawere decent. I added a photo of my plate for reference. Read more

I frequently order here because I live right down the street and recently it has been so inconsistent. I always order the... tortilla soup and sometimes the chicken is shredded and sometimes I get entire chicken tenders in soup?.. I shouldn?t have totake out the meat and shred it/cut it up to be able to eat it as soup. Todays order finally made me decide not to order anymore.I ordered soup and the Humberto burrito. The soup came yellow! It usually has a reddish tint to it but today it was totallyyellow and the broth looked so murky I couldn?t even see any of the ingredients. The burrito was fine except they put way moresour cream on it then usual, making it overpowering over any flavor of the meat/actual burrito. You would think all Carmelita?slocations would prepare their things the same but it?s drastically different. Next time I?ll drive to new port richey for goodtortilla soup. Read more

Great menu & great combos. Full bar; and all the other beverages: margaritas, cold beer, & sangria. Bar area with barstools,... tables, & booths, & TV. Also separate dining room area. The prices are fair for the portions. Never disappointed. Always a solidchoice when we are craving Mexican/Tex-Mex. Clean & friendly. Read more

My first time eating here. My better half introduced me. She's been talking about it for years. She had a steak burrito while I... had an extremely delicious "special" combo meal. Would definitely go again and tell friends about it. Read more

This restaurant use to be amazing, however the quality has gone down a lot and they are so slow now serving you. It was good for... the night but won?t be back for a while! Plus they raised their prices it was almost $60 for two adults and a babe (I can go toOlive Garden) or a fancier restaurant for that! Read more

I hate to leave this review, but potential customers need to know the truth. Food was unbelievably bland. Table and seats where... we were seated were dirty. We asked for them to be wiped down (a group must have just left that table) but they were nevercleaned for us. Condiment containers on the table were greasy. Not a sanitary place whatsoever. The worst Americanized Mexicanfood we have ever tasted. Nothing was authentic Mexican OR classic Americanized Mexican. Refried beans contain bacon pieceswhich sounds good but it's not. It is very strange and no salt or seasonings. Salsa is bland tomatoes, no spices at all. Blackbeans were plain, no salt or seasonings. Same for the rice (no seasonings) which was also overcooked & mushy. Service wasterrible. As previously stated, table was never cleaned for us. We had to wait around searching for a server for silverware andnapkins (ours disappeared for most of our meal then ignored our table when she came back). Patrons in the parking lot weresocializing and stopping traffic from coming in or out with their vehicles. Must be a bad part of town. Very low quality food,no cooking skills, bad service, and shady ambiance. I do not recommend this restaurant unfortunately. We were both verydisappointed. Read more
