Tried this place years ago and wasn?t too impressed. However, we live locally and it always seems somewhat busy around dinner... time. We figured 6 years later let?s give it another try. This time the food was tastier so I was excited, but quickly changedmy mind when I ended up catching food poisoning from eating there. When talking to my dad I found out he said the same thinghappened to him once before after eating there, and he?s never been back. I had a busy Saturday (10/29/22), I didn?t eatanything since the day before, hence why we were hungry, and ready to enjoy a nice dinner. It was very easy to narrow down thesource. About 5 hours after finishing, I was sick for a good 36 hours and it was not pleasant. Safe to say I will not bereturning. It's been a long time since we were here. It was as good as I remember. Authentic Cuban food was great. The staff was very... friendly in the restaurant was clean. I stumbled on this place while working in St. Petersburg. The owner was very friendly and the restaurant has been in business... over 20 years. I came back later for a late lunch, and our waiter, Jesse, was helpful when I asked for recommendations. PolloAla Russa was my choice with Yuca and Caldo soup. The chicken was breaded and juicy, with small peas in a light very flavorfulsauce. I really enjoyed the collard green soup with beans. It was something new for me to try and it made me happy. The Yuca hada Mojo sauce on it, which added extra flavor. They even served some warm Cuban bread before the meal. I will definitely findmy way back to this great little restaurant. Maybe sit on the patio, try something else new. Price , service, and food are alla win. It's worth the drive. Read more
A friend was over and we wanted to order some takeout - he was familiar with the Tampa location of La Teresita, highly... recommended it, and we gave this location in Pinellas a try. Food order was accurate, ready when we arrived, came in hugeportions, and very delicious. I am sorry that I did not know about this gem before, we will be eating there again. I gave 5* foratmosphere - we did not dine in, the storefront is clean but dated and could use a refresh, I'm going to assume the dining roomis in the same condition - and not worthy of giving this place anything less than an excellent rating.
