My wife and I just had to have some iced, strong, sweet and delicious Vietnamese coffee. This was the place we selected. I... popped in and ordered after confirming they make it by the traditional slow drip method. Yes! I waited patiently at the barwhile the friendly waiter made our two drip iced coffees to go. Colleague and I had a terrible egg dish that tasted like paper. Small portion of pork for $14 (around 3oz).
Okay. Been going here for a while. In the last couple months the service has gone downhill. I had a talk with the waiter the... last 2nd to last time I was there about how slow they’ve become. Very apologetic they were that I still gave 20% tip. Todayis a different story though. Waiting again and the tables not clean. Waited for the table then sat down. The bus boy gave uswater. Then nothing. I stood up with my wife and said enough. The waiter started coming over and I said I’m not waitinganymore. You need to fix your service. At which point the water followed me out the door and started yelling at me. I said buddyyour service here has gone downhill. Of course the truth hurts and then he yelled swear words. Seems like this place has gonedownhill all together. You never yell at a customer. You ensure them that it will be looked into. They need service training. Very disappointing lunch ordered. Ordered the com thit nuong - but the meat is just fat pieces. No actual “meat”. Very... cheaply made meal. Very sad and embarrassing as I thought it would be an authentic place. I gave it a 2nd shot the first time Ihad pho which was a dark powder broth. Good pho broth should be clear and sweet. Okay fried egg rolls but everything else was problematic. The fresh rolls were a disappointment with anything-but-fresh... ingredients and a sauce that tasted rancid. The noodles in the pho were old and stale. Way too heavy on the cilantro. But theworst of the worst was the chicken pho. Mostly pieces of skin and fat and, as a first, bones. This is a surprise that this place is as good as Pho Kien. Price, menu selection, service and even the fried chicken wings. I... am not complaining, it is good to have choices. Also, the atmosphere is cleaner and nicer. Update: If you want egg noodleinstead of rice noodle, it will be $1. This is the only place does this up charge!!! Update: The restaurant is never too busyso social distancing is not an issue here. However, they do have hand sanitizer by the front door. The place is clean, serverswear mask and gloves (wasn't when I was there a few days ago), sauces are served with individual sizes. Food is stilldelicious. They have real drip Vietnamese ice coffee which is worth the wait! You can sit at the bar and watch the coffee drip drip... drip. I’ve also tried the pork spring rolls appetizer and they are tasty with a small amount of grilled pork, noodles andveggies. Read more
