It was a great dining experience celebrating my birthday with family. The waitress was great and the food was very good. As with... a lot of places the service was a little slow but everyone is struggling with lack of help so I can't fault them for that. Allin all it was a very nice dinner together with my family. A pretty typical resort dining room: neat and clean, but somewhat cold and austere. If you've seen one, you've seen 'em all. The... food was similar: generally good enough, but not particularly creative or noteworthy. The burger was fine, the catfish sandwichwas fine, the fries were fine, etc. The onion bites (onion rings in non-ring form ) were different and pretty good. This place was amazingly amazing there was a waitress named Angie who was top notch and on her game like no bodies business kept... the tea/lemonade coming never had a opportunity where I had a empty cup! While staying at the lodge at Pipestem State Park, we had dinner here on our first night. Upon entering, the dining room is... well appointed and it was not busy at all. We were seated immediately and our wait staff did a fine job during the entire Diningexperience. We placed our order and it took a slightly long time to get our food but it was not extremely long. When the foodcame out, it looked amazing! See pics. I had the WV Trout Almandine which came with veggie du jour! My wife had the SacorySmothered Chicken Breast with veggie du jour! My meal was cooked perfect but her chicken was a little over done so it was dry!The salad bar was decent but small, which is fine! The 3 star rating comes from the fact that my wife found egg shells in herchopped eggs that she put on her salad from the salad bar! They did take a small fee of about $5 off of our bill but thatdoesn?t change the nasty feeling of biting into egg shells! The other part of the rating was due to the fact that although thepricing was reasonable, the desert pricing was outrageous! See menu pics! Skip this place. If you are staying at the lodge you get enough views otherwise. I was expecting overpriced food so no big deal... but was not very good and portions were small. Employees seemed nice, just not suited for their job. I paid $60 for four peopleand we had to stop and grab some fast food because everyone was still hungry. Read more

The service was nice and the food was ok. If you are not staying at the hotel, finding the dining room is a bit of a difficult... task. Luckily there were signs letting us know we were heading in the right direction. It had a wonderful view of thesurrounding mountains. Read more
