The bad: My daughter had made reservations at this restaurant for 10 people but was told we could increase the number to 16... people. When my daughter called, they said we could only have 10 people (so we had to dis-invite people). How messed up isthat ? They should call to confirm but they didn't. It was a graduation dinner. When we finally got arrived with our "10"guests, 4 people ordered RARE steaks. All of them arrived well done. Most of us were too embarrassed to send the orders back. My 12 year old son said it was too over-cooked and dry and sent his back. There was someones hair in the pasta that they gaveus. I had the waitress send it back. I ordered a bottle of red wine from Cakebread. They gave us a completely differentbottle of wine. Of course they opened it and served it so we had to buy it (so check your bottle of wine to insure it's theright bottle) The good: The appetizers were pretty good. The view was fantastic Atmosphere was over all pretty good They gavethe kids free dessert to make up for it wait staff was fantastic - I gave her an extra tip Would I go back to this restaurant ? Probably not. It was an over-all disappointing restaurant for the amount of $$$ we paid. Basically they are charging finedining prices but there is definitely room for improvement. Read more
Such an amazing atmosphere. Great food. Great view. Fabulous staff. Incredible all around. Thank you to Jaclyn (our server) for... taking a great evening and making it absolutely amazing. The appetizers and desserts were amazing, especially the crab toast and matcha tiramisu. However the main courses were quite... disappointing. The Chilean sea bass's presentation was mediocre (although it tasted alright), but the mushroom papillote wasuniquely terrible and should honestly be taken off the menu. The service was polite and efficient, but was not very warm orfriendly., and was not up to par with other fine dining restaurants we've been to. Overall I would return if they refreshedtheir entrees lineup. Read more
Went to Altius to celebrate a friend's promotion, we hadn't planned it in advance but the night went wonderfully and they... brought out a congratulations dessert. My friend felt really special by the hospitality. Our server Angie was welcoming andattentive. She presented the menu in a way that entices you to want to try everything! Certainly an amazing view! Service could have been better. It took forever to get the drink for one of our guests in the party... (45 minutes?), it turns out they are out of the wine she ordered. Instead of offering us something similar at the same pricethey up-sold us for a higher priced option. Food was good but I had better at other less pricey venues. When you leave over$1,000 at the restaurant you expect it to be super extraordinary, in this case it was the view and the company. Read more
The view is PHENOMENAL!! Absolutely picturesque and dreamy. The food was carefully prepared and delectable. The caramelized... onion bread is to die for. Be sure to reserve your table well in advance because this place is in high demand- for good reason!It wasn’t overwhelmingly busy and the server was very attentive and charming. Absolutely amazing view. Amazing food. Make sure to have proper attire. Our server was so kind and wonderful. Highly recommend.... We took the incline up to Altius- awesome Pittsburgh experience with overlook on the city! Vegan option was fantastic. Read more
Me and my group(LA based) found this place while exploring Pittsburgh and they blew us away! The service is so immaculate, great... touches, and a lovely atmosphere with a great view.
