Great small taco shop right on Route 8. Friendly staff and delicious food. They offer takeout and online ordering as well, which... makes this a great pick up and go spot. Read more

Definitely the most authentic Los Angeles-style experience that you can find in Pittsburgh. Weird strip mall location? Check.... Every construction worker in the area on their lunch break? Check. Fast, flavorful and delicious California burrito? Check.Addictive spicy salsa? Hell yeah, that's a check. Will definitely go back and grab a torta sometime soon. Isn't reinventing thewheel here but it's good counter burritos in a city that really lacks them. Read more

The Street Torta (Pollo Y Chorizo) is amazing! The flavors come together so nicely, it's definitely one of the best around. They... also have great salsa, enchiladas and tacos. I'm so glad I took a chance on this cute little taco shop. It's very authentic. Read more

The food was absolutely delicious, reasonably priced, and quickly made! I had the chicken burrito and churros. Before ordering... online, I'd recommend calling them since they were out of tres leches but it was still listed on their website. The grilledchicken burrito was quite large. I customized it without onions and they were ensured there were no onions. The sauce in theburrito is excellent. A bit creamy, flavorful, and plentiful. The chicken is tender and there is quite a lot of chicken! Theouter shell is soft and when I picked it up, it was still warm. Took only 10 minutes to make. The burrito comes with two saucesfor free (red and green). Both are somewhat acidic and quite spicy. You'll love them if you are a fan of real spice. Thechurros were the best I have ever had. You can add caramel to them as well, probably for a small upcharge. The plain version wasstill amazing. Crispy on the outside, and fluffy in the inside. It was not overly hard. There is some sort of sweetcream/stuffing on the inside which was also quite unique. I believe you get 6 with each order. Overall, I highly recommend theCalifornia Taco Shop. It is a great bang for your buck, has authentic flavors, and lots of variety. Plus, they make your foodvery quickly. Delicioso! Read more

I tell you what this place was fantastic, I come in not really knowing what to expect because it's in sort of tiny strip mall... and there isn't a lot of signage letting you know it's there visible from rt.8 and I never would have noticed it had it not beenfor google maps recommending it to me because usually you are driving as fast as possible to beat that light by the gasstation. Anyway the food was amazing and we ordered nearly everything from the menu, we are taking about $150+ for two people(we had loads of left overs of course) Everything was got was great tasting and exceeding what I had expected. The taste wasauthentic and the service was great as well. They do have a small seating area which was empty when we got there and nobodyever sat down except for my wife and I. This seems mainly as a carry out joint and there were plenty of people coming in topick up orders. Cost wise they are in the middle and had a recent price hike due, what I suspect, is inflation and the cost offood going up but it was still a good value for what you got. This is an easy repeat for me as it's on the way to my parents soI will be back for sure. Read more

We ordered a rice, bean & cheese burrito (cheese is orange, not white), chorizo taco in soft shell (you get 2 shells when you... order soft), ground beef taco in a light and crunchy hard shell. All super good, reasonably priced, and served in 5 minutes. Wealso got a horchata (rice, milk, cinnamon) beverage - major thumbs up on that too. We're saving a little to put in our coffeelater!
