Great experience. Very cool design, friendly staff and absolutely delicious meal. We decided to try pei mussles as starter -... very, very good with an expected, slight kick to it! As a main we ordered the bavette with a side of mashes potatoes. Can'tdescribe how much we enjoyed it. Next time I get to eat in fl.2 it might be difficult to try other things. Fl. 2 is a true hidden gem in downtown Pittsburgh (don?t tell anyone!). The taste of the food here is incredible ? super... flavorful ? but the service takes it to another level. Huge thank you to Sandy, who served my family and I for a loved one?sbirthday. Sandy absolutely went above and beyond to make the experience amazing. Went for brunch. Had the pork belly sandwich companion had the eggs Benedict. On of her eggs was cooked through and the pork... belly was a little under done, or more accurately just not crispy. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice. Pricewould have been fine if the quality of the food preparation was just a little better. Fl.2 was a great experience all around. The restaurant is on the second floor of the Fairmont, easy to find on arrival, and has... a lovely, modern vibe. The food and drinks were good, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The bartenders make a decentAperol Spritz and espresso martini. The yukon gold mash was the best dish I tried, but the burger, fries, rotisserie chicken,and sunchoke were also good. Read more

I took my husband here for his 31st birthday as it has been on our list for quite some time. The ambiance of fl.2 is very... romantic and chic with the open view into the kitchen. The bar is also stunning in gold decor and it overlooks the city. Sincethe kitchen is open it does allow you to watch the kitchen staff, which we enjoyed since we are big at home chefs. The staffmember who we assumed to be the head chef plating food was chewing gum while doing so and it caught us by surprise... If youwatched him it was easy to notice his knife skills were very poor which immediately had me questioning our restaurant choice. Itwas very disappointing they served our appetizer before our drinks as it did not set the tone for the dinner. The service fromthe bar is so slow it does disrupt the meal. I ordered the lobster gnudi and pulled out three shells that made it into my sauce,which was also very disappointing. We enjoyed the sangria and espresso martini and the burrata appetizer was very tasty. The joe2.0 cocktail for $20 was not great. Taylor, our waitress, was lovely and she did a great job at explaining the menu in detail tous and serving us to the capabilities the restaurant would allow. Overall I feel strongly the restaurant service, food quality,and ambiance should reflect the prices on the menu and they were very off base. I hope to see fl.2 step up to the level they aretrying to set their bar at in the future. Read more
