Mad Mex is pretty good. I got the chimichanga and it was good, nothing special but not bad! But the frozen margs were great!... Definitely more on the pricey side for no reason though Read more

I want to be clear our waitress Emma IS A 5/5 on customer service. She was phenominal. However the food wasn't what was... expected. Prior to Emma taking over our table I asked the host if I could get chips with queso. Inquired as to whether or notit was spicy or actual queso. His response was sure, no spice whatsoever. Get the chips and the cheese wasn't even queso. Heinformed me after bringing it that they don't carry queso. Had I known that I would've abstained. You can literally see thepeppers in the cheese that was given to me.. My meal was supposed to be no spice whatsoever yet I could only eat the chicken offmy chicken tacos because they were too loaded with spices. The sangria was delicious but i had to have it remade due to a hairin my drink. I was shocked with so many issues management didn't even ask us how our visit was which is pretty standard in mostrestaurants. After this I won't be back. Read more

Great food! So many vegan options! Tofu for the burritos. Vegan cheese and sour cream options. Even seitan! The soy seitan wings... were very sweet. Will try their spicy flavors next time. Read more

The Crab quesadilla was quite good, and I was impressed by the apple cider margarita with the salted caramel rim. We got the... trio of dips with chips for an appetizer and the spicy queso and guac were very good. The blue cornbread was amazing, and seemedlike it was just cooked fresh. Read more

It's corn season! Same Mad Mex as always, but now with a bunch of seasonal grilled corn dishes. This is the chicken and corn... burrito with a grilled corn salsa on the side. And a patron margarita, because. Mad Mex is a Pittsburgh fixture, and for goodreason. Great food, good beer selection, great margaritas. The Oakland location is the OG Mad Mex that started it all. It's muchsmaller than the other ones, it has a smaller draft selection and it has more of a bar sort of feel. But if you're in Oakland,it's still the same great food and drinks. And I think the Oakland location has a lot more late night bargains and otherstudent-focused deals. Read more

This is your typical Tex-Mex restaurant. I?m giving it 5 stars because we?ve never had bad service here, and I?ve been coming to... this location for over 21 years now. If you?re looking for ?real? Mexican food, there are certainly more authentic joints in thegreater Pittsburgh area. What I love about Mad Mex is that it?s near the museums and Pitt which we visit often being alumni, andthe prices are very reasonable for the portions you get. If you come at peak times, you will wait as this location is small. Buthey, if you choose to come when it?s busy, then exercise some patience and restraint with your review. At any rate, thanks Joshfor a pleasant experience today. Wish you all the best with your studies at Pitt. Read more

Fresh ingredients are used and you can taste that.salsa is awesome. I wouldn'tcall it authentic Mexican food but the closest I've tasted in years. Read more
