Best time to go to Mario's is post 7. The wait staff is really good and helpful. The last time I was here they let me make my... own variation of a cocktail which is a big thing for a bar to do! The food was delicious too. I especially loved the curly friesand the chicken wings! Among the drinks, the whiskey sour is a must try if you enjoy something tangy and are a whiskey fan! AndI forgot to tell you the best part, it is considerably cheap too! Read more
I absolutely love the one on Shadyside!! And south side!! I was sorely disappointed in this one. This is the second time which... is why I?m writing this review, when i walked in just to grab a drink and ask what time do you close and they say debatablethat?s not the answer. Tell me clear. So I said no that?s okay, maybe and went to walk out and he goes ?no no you can order.?But at that point you already lost my business. I work in this industry, I?m a bartender I get it. But I don?t do that to mycustomers ever. Horrible customer service. Be clear with your Customers, don?t be iffy and make it seem like my business isn?tgood enough because you want to go home. Very cool place. Wicked busy after the Petersen event center had just let out but we still got served almost right away... (upstairs was a little less busy), even on Thursday night in oakland.. Nice beer selections and good draft prices. Read more
Our waitress was super friendly and right there when we needed a refill on our drinks. Everyone else liked the food they ordered... at our table but my burger had a strange fishy flavor...so I ate my fries and moved on. Read more
Went here post COVID when it was more of a restaurant than a bar and was pleasantly surprised! We had been to the Shadyside... location and were less than impressed but the food here was fresh, the drinks were good and the waitstaff was attentive! She waseven super flexible about our group moving tables and allowed us to all get separate checks. The shot pitchers are a littleexpensive for what you get but the ambiance makes up for it! Would recommend for a quick bite in Oakland! Read more
I really like the Mario's in Shadyside, but I just didnt find this one's food to be nearly as good. Its disappointing, as this... is a closer location. It's a small little pub, and maybe they have an entirely new kitchen staff. I can only hope that it getsbetter. I still havent tried the location in the South Side, but the food is great at their "Eastside" location. Read more
