I took a Lyft from the VA hospital to the restaurant. I honestly could have walked. I did opt to walk back. This place is in... trend and similar to any bowl restaurant you have ever dined at. I ordered one of their popular bowls. The food was verytasty. I really enjoyed every bite. My only complaint would be that the chicken was over cooked, and as a result a littledry. Please note that the dinning area is downstairs. It's a small space, and admittedly I was not a fan of the smell. Notsure what it smells like, but just not fresh. Regarding service: A+++++. It was the cashier for me! I wish I would have grabbedher name because she deserves a raise. Her personality was so bubbly and she really seems to like what she does. Her energy isso contagious. If you are hav ing a bad day, interacting with her will be a guaranteed way to make it better. You must checkthis spot out for fresh and tasty food complimented by stellar service. Honestly, the female cashier makes up for the otherstaff providing mediocre service Read more

Great restaurant, wheelchair friendly (level entrance with soft-close button makes it easy to enter independently) and their... food is really good. They have an allergen menu both posted online and physically displayed where customers can see it. Also, the food's REALLY yummy. Highly recommend! Read more

I LOVE roots and the concept. The salads are amazing. So fresh. So good and consistent every time. But every time I go here I... couldn?t feel like more of an inconvenience to the staff working. Every time?it never fails. At the end of the day you?rescooping things into a bowl?and this is your job. Just be nice. Read more

Great food, amazing flavor for all veggie and grain bowls. So nice to have healthy food done well. Generous portions too. FYI,... there is no indoor dining though, it was take out only when we were there, and street parking is hard to find. Read more

My daughter?s favorite place to go when she was living in Pittsburgh for college. This place has a lot of varieties of heathy... food choices. I couldn?t figure out what I want from the menu, so I just chose the Create Your Own bowl. I tried the roots riceas the base which is seasoned purple rice. This rice tasted very good. I combined roots rice and Arcadian mix (mixed greens) asthe base. I chose BBQ tofu for the protein. I added sweet potatoes, beets, charred corn, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, avocado(extra charge), and cilantro lime as my dressing. This dressing is low acidity. It has a hint of honey. This is the bestdressing I?ve ever had. I?m glad I followed my daughter?s suggestion. I definitely will go back here when I?m around this area.I wish they have a restaurant in MD. Read more

Bring back the blazin? blue salad or at least blue cheese!!! Great way at encouraging myself to eat more healthy. Its difficult... for me and I?m sure many other people to enjoy eating insanely healthy food. And maybe I don?t make the healthiest order, but Ido find that roots serves good tasting healthier options than other fast food type restaurants. The people working here are alsofriendly and helpful. Everything seems very fresh and there are options you can?t find at other salad joints. Prices are alsofitting for what you get and the bowls will fill your stomach quickly. Read more
