Used to be a regular years ago. The owners are the best. Just came back yesterday to try a variety of items such as gyro,... falafel, spinach pie, and tahini. Either my palate matured or the quality went down because I just wasn't feeling it. The gyromeat isn't the quality I'm used to at other places and is salty and so is the tahini. I never really did care for their falafelsbut had forgotten about that. The spinach pie was my favorite and ironically was the only thing frozen lol I may return sometimein the future since I do live nearby but there definitely is better Mediterranean food to be had in the city. Great little hole in the wall Mediterranean food stop. The grape leaves were incredible. The gyro delicious. And the falafel was... very good as well. I'd include pictures but the food was too good to wait. The owner was incredibly nice and accommodating andhonestly buying my food from here made me feel good after interacting with them. If you're in the area it is well worth the stopfor a delicious meal. Read more

I went in for the first time tonight, was running late and forgot cash. The owner was incredibly kind and pointed me toward an... ATM nearby. The gyro was easily the best I've had in Pittsburgh. Excellent meat, fresh tomato, and a delicious sauce. I alsohad a baklava for the first time and it was amazing! I'm not usually a fan of dessert, but these were very good. Sam recommendedthat I have mine with coffee and the pairing was great. I can't wait to come back! Read more

Ordered the large gyro. Definitely should have ordered the regular sized one. Was definitely a big portion for a great value.... Very delicious. Also ordered baba ghannouj (not pictured), the spices they use in it are delightful and I'd definitely orderagain. Owner was SO nice. Honestly even if the food wasn't amazing, I'd want to go back just for how nice he was. Read more

That was the freshest food I've ever had at a restaurant. The tomatoes tasted fresh off the vine, the pita tasted like it was... just cooked that day, and if they had told me they made the feta themselves I would have believes them. I absolutely loved thegyro, and highly recommend the side of feta cheese. And I cannot express enough how friendly the gentleman at the counter was. Ireally felt like he appreciated my business so incredibly much, and will absolutely be going back again. Love this place!!! Read more

Everything was delicious, huge, and cheap! The chicken gyro came with like half a chickens' worth of meat. The lamb gyro had a... unique middle Eastern type flavour to it that I can't describe, but it was very good. Spanakopita was delicious too. Everythingseemed fresh and not greasy. Will come back! The best gyros in Pittsburgh, not to mention the cheese pie. A tiny little store located on the edge of Brentwood and Carrick,... Sam's is worth a visit if you love gyros, cheese and meat pies, salads and more. They also have a good selection of sweets suchas baklava and pistachio rolls. Street parking, so be sure to bring quarters, and Sam only takes cash. Read more
