We hired Sausalido to cater our wedding, and the catering was a colossal train wreck. Based on our experience, we would... recommend against hiring Sausalido to do any catering for any function. Even though the owner refunded us $1000 at our weddingin an effort to, as he put it, “make it right,” Sausalido’s catering service was so objectively awful that the $1000refund hardly made anything right. First, they were late showing up and they were late with the food. We had to delay ourwedding nearly an hour because even when they did show up, they did not have the food for dinner. (We were assured that theywould show up two hours before the wedding, but this definitely did not happen.) Second, they did not have any chafing dishesfor the food (when they eventually brought food). The servers simply threw trays on tables, had no way of keeping those trayswarm, and made no effort to present the food in an attractive way that you would expect at a wedding. Third, the food was waybelow the quality that we were served at our tasting. Fourth, and perhaps most importantly, we paid for 125 people to eat. Weonly had 115 people attending. SAUSALIDO RAN OUT OF FOOD FOR OUR GUESTS! We had three tables who had to wait hours to eatbecause there was no food left. After several phone calls with the owner, he finally sent over more food from an event down thestreet. However, the initial batch of emergency food that he sent amounted to grapes, cheese, and a half-eaten tray of fish. Itwas pathetic. It took more phone calls to the owner before he personally showed up with more food. He kept telling us that hewas “sending elevated stuff.” Whatever it was, it was leftover, and it was not what we ordered to be served at our wedding.By that point, we had directed our wedding coordinator to order pizza. I knew I wanted Chef Nick and the Sausalido team to cater our wedding as soon as we left our tasting. Chef Nick is so talented... and kind. Not only does all of the food look beautiful, everything taste amazing. Our guests all commented on how great the foodwas at our wedding. My husband and I are beyond thankful to Sausalido for providing fantastic food and service to our guests onsuch a special day. Highly recommend using Sausalido for all your catering needs! Read more

Once again, Sausalido did not fail to disappoint! I recently placed a big catering order for a birthday party and the food was... delicious. Everyone absolutely raved about it. We had the chicken Romano, chicken breast with arugula, bowtie pasta, meatballs,and rustic Tuscan bread. It was definitely impressive and delectable. The customer service and attention to detail isimpeccable. I would recommend Sausalido as one of the best catering companies in Pittsburgh! Read more

What a great restaurant! I ordered a last minute 50 person catering order from them, and didnt realize how cute and quaint their... little restaurant is as well, until I went to pick it up. The food is not only delicious, but the presentation is alsobeautiful! There were so many colors on the plate. I had the pleasure of working with both John and Nick in the pre planningstage, and they were both extremely helpful, reassuring and accommodating. Elijah was the chef on duty when I picked up theorder who was also efficient, professional and really friendly. Should the topic arise in a future conversation regarding "Ineed a caterer" I will absolutely suggest Sausalido's as a go-to option. Read more
Small intimate place with lots of character. Food is really good,and it is BYOB,which saves a lot in that area. Seasonal menu,so... they don't always carry the same stuff all the time. Crab cakes with risotto were delicious. Would definitely return! Read more
The food is UNREAL. We catered from here for our wedding reception and everyone raved about the food. It was so delicious and... flavorful. Nick was awesome to work with. We told him what we wanted and he gave his recommendations and they were perfect. Wedid buffet style and the staff was wonderful. I highly recommend Nick and Sausalido. Read more
