Great food sometimes, but quality has gone downhill over the past year and the food preparation is inconsistent. One week the... tikka masala and mutter paneer are delicious (in the far past, the best in Pittsburgh for my money), the next they look andtaste like completely different dishes. Read more

Horrible wait time, horrible service and Rude staff. We ordered soup , Chilli chicken, Chana Batura on a weekday at 6:30 pm.... Soup n chilli chicken came but they made us wait for 40 minutes after finishing soup n chilli chicken for the main chana Baturaand upon asking for the reason for delay, the person responsible rudely said "It takes time and we have many deliveries". Weasked to cancel n he didn't even apologize. we had a little one of 2 years with us and even she was frustrated n got reallyfussy waiting unnecessarily without the food arriving. I would never ever visit this place nor recommend others to visit. Read more

A horrible takeout experience. We placed a takeout order and were informed it would be ready at 5:15. After about an hour of... waiting past that time, and receiving multiple excuses about why our food wasn?t being prepared, we asked for a refund. We weretold the restaurant can?t issue a refund because the order was made online, so we now have to go through the extra step ofdisputing the credit card charge. Very disappointed and will make sure to direct anyone who asks where to get good Indian foodaway from Tamarind. Read more

Most of the time the listed items in menu was not refilled properly. May be I can take a video or pic when I come there next... time to show you some proof. It will be easy to post it in review. ----- Food taste is worst and their buffet menu items arelimited now. It used to be a decent restaurant couple of years back. They lost their shine. At least the limited menu could havetasted better. Read more

I had a very good experience in this place. I had a chicken biryani, the dish was big and very delicious. It was a lil bit too... spicy to my taste but the yogurt was really helping and refreshing. The restaurant is clean and the staff is really friendly. The manager was really helpful in helping us understand the menu and recommend good dishes. We tried chicken tikka masala whichwas really good, not very spicy, only had a tasty enjoyable kick. The tandoori chicken was very tasteful perfect spicy level, but felt like the quantity was small. The tandoori lamb chops and the mixed tandoori platters were very very good. Goodquantities and perfect spices. All are served with white basmati rice. The nan was good, the garlic naan was my favorite. As adesert, we had the gulab juman. It was warm with perfect sweetness. I really liked it myself Read more

Unfortunately, I have to revise my opinion of this place downwards - which is a shame. Now that COVID restrictions have lifted,... a few friends who love the cuisine of India, decided to revisit this place. It's been one of our favorites for years. I calledfor a reservation and was told that they do not take reservations on the weekend as these are their busiest days. I get that, sodid not take offense, but notified the group of this fact, and we all agreed that the first one in, would get a table and textthe rest of us. The first person was me, and when I entered the place it was mostly empty! There were only two occupied tables.Throughout the whole evening, no more than three tables - aside from us - was ever taken. So, why could we not make areservation??? Some of us wanted beers while deciding on what to order; others wine. The menu has a listing for liquor, andthere are orange liquor license signs on the front door and behind the main counter. We have had alcoholic beverages herebefore, so the orange signs were confusing. The waiter came over - not wearing a mask, by the way! - and we asked to order somedrinks. Turns out they only served Corona or Taj Mahal beers, and only by the glass. Apparently, this is because the ownershiprecently changes and the liquor license is still caught up in the red tape. None of us knew what Taj Mahal is, so we asked. Theexplanation is that it was a very good and dark beer that is similar to a. Guinness. Interesting. So, a couple of us ordered it.When the beers arrived, even the waiter could not tell the difference between the Corona and the Taj Mahal .... and he POUREDTHEM FROM THE BOTTLES!!! They were both light in color. The Taj Mahal, by flavor, was pretty light. More like an IC Light thananything else. Hmm.... Next we ordered our food. One of the dishes was unavailable. No biggie, we ordered a replacement. Whenthe appetizers arrived, the samosas were delivered without the customary chutneys. These were pretty Read more
