Absolutely stunning dinner at the Vandal. We started with the Steak Tartare and oysters. Oysters could’ve been a little more... fresh. The tartare was perfect. Very fresh and bright tasting. We also got the gnochetti and the pork chop….. both wereamazing. Pork chop melted in your mouth. The gnochetti was spicy but not too much and cooked perfectly. Ended with a pawpawcrème brûlée. My partner hates crème brûlée but he was in love with this. The crème was sweet and banana-esque. Willdefinitely be returning! Read more

Nothing at this restaurant resembles an Eastern European restaurant where portions are generous, prices are right, food has... taste and the tables have white crispy clothes. We left this restaurant hungrier than we walked in and $$$ lighter. If you want to feel fancy or impress your significant other with a dinner that will cost a few hundred dollars, eat before or plan to eatafter. The bombastic food names on the menu mean nothing but little food with a fancy design. Read more

We had our June 2022 wedding rehearsal dinner at The Vandal -- a no-brainer for us as its one of our favorite neighborhood... restaurants to enjoy seasonal food and great wine. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves for about 30 guests, and it wasintimate, relaxed and truly lovely. We worked with Evan to create a hand-selected seasonal menu and also had input on thecocktail and wine offerings, but they surprised us (in the best way) on the day of and had our picks plus many more cocktail, beer and wine options. Everyone raved about the food, drinks, wonderful hospitality and intimate atmosphere. Thank you to thewhole team at the Vandal for kicking off our wedding weekend in the best way! Read more

Wow! We went for the first time and sat at the bar. Jessica was incredible. You can tell the staff loves working here. She was... just so effortlessly flawless. We got the chicken liver mouse and the ricotta fritters(in house made ricotta). We are alreadyexcited about our next visit here. Read more

We were so excited to be able to check out the renovations and new summer menu last night. As always the service was impeccable... and the atmosphere had that perfect date night vibe. We can’t help but over order when we come here but everything was sodelicious it was worth the need for sweats when we got home. We started with the fresh bread service and olives, the breadscrust was baked to perfection but a tip I wish I would have known. Don’t butter all of your bread if you get the olives, dip alittle of that crusty goodness into their amazing olive oil. Don’t debate on whether or not to get the pea and ricottafritters, just do it. Whatever the green sauce is I wish I had a jar on hand at home. I loved the chicken and thought it wasperfectly cook but would not have been made if there was more salsa verde for every bite. We also had the bass which was goodbut I saw the pork and should have gone with that only because the fish was slightly over cooked on the edges and the piece wassmaller. Just figured if you are reading this and torn between the bass and anything else on the menu I’d go with option 2. Weended the night with the flourless chocolate cake and could have shoved another piece of that somewhere because it was divine. We both had the white Negroni which we LOVED and split whatever the tawny port with hits on raisins was and it was quite tastyand paired perfectly with the dessert. Definitely worth every penny. Read more

We’ve been meaning to try this place for a while now and finally got a reservation on Sunday for brunch. We ordered the... coffee, bread sampler, frittata, and salmon dish. The food was great..but there was something missing (maybe we had highexpectation because of all the hype and hard to get table?). That being said, the servers were great and gave us their honestrecommendations. I honestly would come here again if the table is readily available. P.S. if you haven’t figured it outalready, do reserve a table since they don’t take walk ins. We saw 3 groups getting turned down in the span of 1 hr Read more

The Vandal is a lovely restaurant on busily Butcher Street. The decor is simple yet chic with a rustic charm. I found the... restaurant on a local guide in search of eateries for a day trip to Pittsburgh. I ordered the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs.DIVINE. All of the flavors complimented each other perfectly. Delicious food, kind staff who were attentive, and overallbeautiful aesthetics. Definitely make a reservation for Sunday brunch. Read more
