I am a firm believer that when traveling and/or visiting, the experience is not complete without sampling the local cuisine. The... patrons of the inn in which we were staying recommended numerous places, however, one local restaurant was top of the list;Vittles Restaurant located in Pittsfield, Maine. Tammy, who was also our server, received us with a warm greeting. She appliedpersonality and character to all she would say and do. Her familiarization of the menu items was explained in detail, in apassionate manner. We were also introduced to the owner Rick, who was also the chef. He took the time to make us feel welcomeand even offered a sample of an avocado dish to get an opinion. He did, after all, say that we would like it. It was, so weordered that plate. Overall, it was a delight to have met people such as these two who went out of the way to create a warm,friendly environment. To know that this wasn?t just a business to them, it is their passion. This place was AMAZING!!! I would come back even though it would be a drive. The food was great and flavorful! The staff was... welcoming too. The waitress suggested the fried onions (like onion straws but better) and they were great. The burger was evenunusually good (nice fresh tasting bun and good flavor in the meat) Great tasting hometown style place. Don't miss this place!! Read more
Very enjoyable and tasty lunch stop while motorcycling through the area. Free on-street parking. Quick service. Reasonable... prices. The BLT with blue cheese along with the corn chowder was outstanding. Well worth the stop. Read more
Vittles is an amazing little restaurant owned and operated by some amazing people. My wife and I have yet to have a bad... experience. We've had both breakfast and lunch there and both times have experienced great food, in a comfy atmosphere, withgreat service. All good (except bread) is made fresh at the restaurant. I'd highly suggest their onion rings if you're eatinglunch, and the home fries if you're having breakfast! Pictures included with this review are the BBQ pulled pork sandwich, andmy wife's veggie burger, which she claims is the best she has ever had at a restaurant. Read more
Delicious! The whole family enjoyed their meals. The sandwiches and paninis were some of the best. Our waiter was very... knowledgeable about the food and how they make various things in the restaurant. We had great service! There was even a shelfwith toys and books for kids to use while waiting! Fab little hole in the wall kind of place with great food, decent portions and prices with locally sourced goods, made from... scratch. The eggs Benedict is fab and the sausage gravy on biscuits is pretty good but there biscuits were not warm which wasthe only let down. Read more
OMG! This place is a hidden gem! The staff was fantastic! The food was great! We got the breakfast quesadilla, meat omelet, and... French toast. There is so much flavor in everything we had. It may seem pricey but with how AMAZING the food is, it is wellworth it! We were stuffed and had boxes to take home! Read more
