They have expanded over the years but the Basin remains to be the best of them all. Classic NY style pizza that has been around... forever but hasn?t lost its taste. Their pizza will forever be apart of my childhood. Whenever I visit home I make sure to stopby and grab a slice of buffalo chicken. You can smell the shop walking by. This place is great for a quick trip to get a slice or two for lunch. They typically have a nice variety of slices to pick... from. There is not any place to eat indoors, but they do have picnic tables outside, or you can drive to the very nearby ErieCanal. Read more

Normally this location gets the highest grades of any pizza place in Rochester but not today's large pizza with sausage, onions... and peppers. It was under cooked and falling apart all over. Pieces not holding together. Very doughy. Hard to cut. Kindaflavorless too. You pay top dollar for pizza nowadays and you expect it to not disappoint. Don't know what happenened to ourpizza tonight. Perfection! By far the best Pontillos and maybe the best pizzeria in the area. This place is the definition of experience at... work. The dough is truly the star of the show on the slices. It has a nice crisp undercarriage but not over cooked likecardboard and the inside is lighter than a feather. I challenge anyone to leave the crust?this dough is so good you?ll go incrust first and leave behind the toppings lol. The dough is such the perfect combo of crispy and light you?d think you wereeating fried dough. The BEST pizza in the area. I used to drive out here from Rochester just to eat this pizza. And they never stress you about (or... charge for) taking extra souffle cups of blue cheese or boss sauce!
