To start I wanted pork fried rice and an egg roll Before the pandemic the food was pretty good,,,, when I went in the place was... empty,,,,,about 1 in the afternoon. They make their egg rolls maybe 3/4 the size they use to be and much thinner. The fried ricewas so dry I had to add water and reheat it in the microwave. No condiments 2 packets of soy sauce were in the bag when I gothome. Needless to say I'll never eat there again. There's another Chinese restaurant near the BigY in Plainfield. Service isgood and the people seem alot more friendly. Your choice Read more

The service was overall pretty good. The women that gave us our food was very kind. No issue there. My main issue has to be the... food. Most of the food was very dry as if it had been more than a few days old. The fried rice was super greasy. And lastly thedumplings I had ordered were mostly dough and also some were still undercooked. I can appreciate the dough made from scratch butthese were just the worst dumplings I had unfortunately. A pretty big disappointment. I would take store bought dough overoverly thick handmade dough any day. Not all of the food is bad but it definitely was a big hit or miss though. Veryinconsistent. Wonderfully flavorful food that not many places in the area can create. My new go-to since my old place is just too far since... moving. If I'm in the Lincoln, RI area, I go to Asia Grille. I live much closer to Joyful House now and am very happy I foundit. This is as close to my old standby as I've been able to find, and it is extremely similar, so I couldn't be more delighted. Mongolian carrots We ordered from Joyful house as we usually do and this is what we received. Half of the meal was carrot. This... is the first time we have ever had this issue. We also ordered a plate of general tso's and it was very underwhelming. As Isaid before this is the first time we've had this issue and it's extremely disappointing. CHECK YOUR BAG! Every time we order from here they never give us all our order. We have called them in the past and they have... offered us to come pick up our missing items. Ha- how about you put all our items we paid for in the bag so there are nocomplaints. We should not have to get back in the car and drive from Jewett City to Plainfield to pick up what should be at ourhouse already. Ordered 2 J85- they didn't give us a soup and ordered a PuPu for 2, no rice. We also ordered house lomein whichwas bland. We should of just went to Koto's in Groton they have awesome Sushi and they don't forget to give you your food thatyou pay for. Koto's Hibachi noodles are very flavorful and you don't have to sit at the hibachi if you don't want to, but theexperience is fun if you are into that sort of thing. Read more
