The food was amazing, and the waitress was exceptional. I ordered a fillet mignon dish that was on the higher end of the menu.... I didn't realize until I'd taken a few bites, that shrimp would be included in the dish. I have a shellfish allergy, and wasunable to eat it. The waitress cheerfully had my order remade. It was amazing. I am unable to eat seafood of any kind, but thosein my party that could gave rave reviews of the sushi offerings. Nice atmosphere, Friendly and attentive staff. First off, this is just as much a review of the previous reviews as it is of the restaurant itself. I chose to come here because... of several 5-star reviews from "local guides." What that means exactly, I don't know. But clearly, the "local guides" who cameto this place and raved about it being the best sushi they've ever had, or the great, friendly service, either haven't evereaten sushi anywhere else or were paid by someone for their kind words. Now for the restaurant itself. It really probablydeserves two stars if I'm really being fair. It wasn't the worst dining experience I've ever had. I didn't see any cockroachesrunning around. I didn't get sick from eating the food. But the service was pathetically slow. The waiter either didn'tunderstand our English or care to clarify our orders, which only added to the time it took to prepare twice the amount weactually wanted. The soft drinks (Coke and Sprite) were flat generic knockoffs probably poured from 2-liter bottles purchased atSam's Club. The "sushi" was average. Just rolls with lots of sauce to hide the flavor of the subpar fish. I've gotten betterrolls from grocery stores. It was sad, really. Disappointing is probably the best word to describe our experience there. Thereviews made it sound so good and we were really looking forward to finally finding a decent Asian restaurant inIndianapolis. Unfortunately, both the reviews and the restaurant itself let us down. This restaurant needs a lot of help. We made a reservation for 6:00pm on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately. There... were a few other tables with customers and several tables with dishes/plates still on the table. About 15 minutes after beingseated our drink orders were taken. 25 minutes later our food orders were taken. Our food arrived 30 minutes after that - 70minutes after being seated. We ordered an appetizer but it was not brought to the table. The food was fine. It was 20 moreminutes after finishing our food that we had to get someone’s attention to bring us our checks. The appetizer we did notreceive was on the check. They were able to remove it and comped me my drink for the inconvenience. The food and service is worth 5 stars all the way! My only reason for docking 1 star off is bathroom cleanliness. The restaurant... was clean and beautiful, but the bathroom needs cleaning bad. The urinal and toilet looked like it wasn't cleaned all day. Mywife had a similar complaint for the ladies room. Considering the restaurant was somewhat empty, there is no excuse for dirtyrestrooms even with shortened staff. The photo is proof of the pride in their cuisine. My daughter recently turned 18 and wanted sushi for her birthday dinner. Our usual spot is still closed to dine in due to the... restrictions, so we thought we'd try Narita. The whole experience took a long time. A long wait in their weird foyer, beforeseeing an employee to be seated. It was a long time before our order was taken, and even longer for our food to arrive. We alsohad to wait for the check long after we were ready to leave. The food was ok, but not worthy of it's exuberant price. For over$100 I expect to be delighted and full, neither of which happened here. The house saki may have help influence my opinion if ithad been palatable. Average food. Strange that our waiter was not able to explain the specials. The starter salad had an amazingly yummy sauce. ... We had little shrimp dumplings which were lukewarm. The General Tsa was way overboard sweet (and missing the sesame seeds likeon the picture). I did not particularly enjoy my meal. Others had the Spicy coconut soup which was delicious. Sushi wasaverage. It was warm which is a good thing...means it’s fresh and not sitting there refrigerated. Would we go back? Undecided. I would for sure order something different. Read more
This was my first time and I love it. I will definitely go back. I had a Moscow roll, my sister had the sampler roll. Next time... I will try the hibachi. If you like sushi ???? and Japanese food try this place. Read more
