I found this place by driving by and googling the reviews. We stopped by after seeing a play at the Art Centre near by. I have... to say....The El Fenix dinner was delicious! Very good flavors!!! OMG!!! I will be back!!! For sure!!! However.... This platterwas supposed to come with 2 tamales, as you can see, mine arrived with half of one tamale. But the 3 enchiladas were each soflavorful and delicious that it didn't matter to me that I was missing 1.5 of the tamales.... Lol... The waitress was reallysweet. The environment was really nice. It was not busy at all...which I couldn't understand... When I visit Texas again... I'lldefinitely return for this platter!!! Yummmmm!!!! Read more

Decent restaurant and good food ! We ordered Tilapia Veracruz and chicken enchiladas with Spicy Margarita. The tilapia tasted... well and the enchiladas were great. The spicy margarita was refreshing! I had an issue with the first order and they replaced myorder with a new one. I loved the customer service . Read more
Absolutely LOVED this place. I came I On a very hot day, my hotel wouldn't let me check in early, I had my suitcase and very... large bag, it was a Lil late at lunch bit still very busy. They were all so nice, put me in an out of the way space for me andmy belongings, The Food was great. The atmosphere awesome. I loved the music and the scenery. We normally go to the one in McKinney but due to an appointment in Dallas we ate at the Plano one this week. There were five of... us this time and only two of us ended up w the Wednesday special. Out of the five orders all went well except I didn?t get theside of rice I had ordered w my meal and since I only saw the waiter when it was time to pay I didn?t get to ask for it. I alsoforgot to look on the check to see if I was charged for it. Food is pretty consistent there. I like the new feature of paying atthe table thought it does put one more responsibility on the waiter. Maybe that?s why I didn?t see him after getting our food.It was Wednesday Special Day and he had additional duties that kept him from checking his tables as much? Read more
Th El Fenix us nicely decorated, super friendly staff. The restaurant was clean and service was quick. I ordered "to go" but ate... chips & salsa and drank ice tea while I waited. The chips were crispy, the tea was very good and the salsa was good too. HoweverI was disappointed with the meal. I had the El Fenix meal, 1 cheese enchilada, 1 taco and 2 tamales with beans and rice. Also aqueso dip with beef added. Good size portions and they sent lots of chips and salsa to go. Thanks for that! The taco was good.The beans were different and they were ok. The cheese enchilada was ok. The cheese dip was very bland, tasted like a mix or froma can. The tamales had a good flavor but the sauce on top was sooooo salty. I couldn't eat them. I maybe would give them anothertry but I would order different items. Read more
I was out running errands yesterday and had the hankering for some good Mexican food and just as I thought that I saw a sign for... El Fenix. It is located right off of 75 in Plano. I had never been to this location so decided to give it a try. I was seatedright away, was brought a menu, chips and iced tea very quickly. Server was attentive and brought everything I needed. Idecided to order from the lunch menu, I went with sour cream sauce, rice and beans. I should have specified to bring the soupout first, both were sent out together. The cheese, rice, tortillas were served and a bowl and the broth came in a containerthat was poured over top. The soup had a good flavor but it was a bit cold. The enchilada rice and beans were good as well. Theinterior of the restaurant is pretty standard. They have a mural painted on the back wall, with traditional Mexican decor on thewalls. There is a small bar tucked into the back and several rooms for dining. Overall, good experience. ???? Read more
