Loved, loved, loved this place! Got there and 2e sat within 10 minutes outside. Service was great and the food was even better!... We took the carrot cake and their chocolate cake home. Omg! My husband and I went here for dinner for the first time. We looked online and didn't find a reservation available for the time... we wanted, so we did a walk-in. We arrived around 6:15 on a Friday and were told the wait would be around 40-45 minutes. The barwas full but we got a bar spot within 5 minutes, and gave up our request for a table. The bar was so spacious despite beingfull of people- very comfortable. Gil was our bartender, and he checked on us regularly, as did another bartender. This placeis considered a bit pricy but all of our food was delicious and worth it- fried shrimp, mac and cheese, chicken Caesar salad,French dip sandwich, smashed potatoes, fries. We will go back. It was our first time here. We had to wait 20 minutes for a table, the place get busy on weekends. Food was great, I had the... burger (very good, reasonably priced), and my husband had the NY steak, he said it was good/okay (a little more than mediumrare). We hadn’t been to J Alexander’s for quite a while, our return did not disappoint. They we quite busy for the Wednesday,... however we were seated right away. We ordered the Mr. Jack's Crispy Chicken Platter (Chicken fingers) . The portions were quitegenerous with the fries being on point with a light season with the chicken fingers were quite filling, moist and again verylightly seasoned with a choice of honey mustard and barbecue sauce. Delightful. We also ordered the Grouper fish with aJalapeño sauce which came with a generous amount of seasoned mash potatoes along with string beans. Appetizers came out quick, the drinks were... perfect, the servers were cool- friendly-& attentive, the Appetizers were delicious, & everyone enjoyed their meal! I'lldefinitely come back! I would definitely recommend J. Alexander's! It had a great ambiance setting for a dime & romantic date night or for a family... dinner night out. The food portion size is pretty good for the price. The dessert was bigger then we imagined and fed the fourof us. For some folks, the restaurant might feel somewhat pricey, but the environment and food portion made up for it; it'sworth it and I'll be back. Read more
