Service is their main thing. The store brand is good. Their produce department is always fresh. I've rarely bought anything that... was bad. Sugar snap peas in the bag one time were bad when I opened them. Last time they didn't have sugar snap peas. That's theonly issue. The restrooms are clean. There's a large health food section. My family and I were on our way back to our hotel June 16, 2022, when we decided to stop off at this Hy-Vee store for a few... snacks and primarily grab dinner; which is where the horrible rating stems from mostly. We have a Hy-Vee in our town and isalways amazing service, food and employees. Which is what we expected at this location but sadly it didn?t even come close, feltmore like shopping at a Walmart. Let me explain: When we first got to the store around 3pm we made our way to get Chinese foodas there was a BOGO that day, however no one was there or even came after standing there for a few minutes. We decided to justgo grab all our items and come back, to which we then stood there for about 3-4mins before someone actually even walked by(manager I believe) she hollered instructions for someone to come help us get food to with no one responded or came to help. She(the manager) then came a couple minutes later right as an employee emerged to meet her half way and still ignoring uscompletely. The lady then again instructed there crew of employees to help us get food as she?s discussing business matters withthe employee that met her half way. But yet still couple more minutes goes by and still absolutely zero interactions with anyonein the slightest. So we decided we?d go to the Wahlburgers to sit down and eat, yet when we walked in there was an olderemployee was sitting at the front area messing with her nails and phone, never even looking up to acknowledge us at all evenwith kids saying hi. We then sat down for a amour 3-4 minutes and still no one came over or at the minimum acknowledged us beingthere at all. So we simply decided to leave all together without ever grabbing food for our dinners and just went to get fastfood at Nebraska City. This was by far the worst experience we?ve had at a Hy-Vee and some of the worst experience at a grocerystore. Probably one of the better grocery store chains you will visit. Plenty of staff to keep the shelves stocked, produce stock ed,... plenty of cashiers too. Selections of organic, gluten free, etc are also offered. These services come at a slight premium. Alsofair sized alcoholic beverages. Read more
