Nothing very interesting on the outside, but so cute inside! We had a taco salad which was excellent, large and full of fresh... ingredients, including the freshly fried tortilla bowl. The fish and chips were just out of a box, but I knew that ahead oftime. Large portion of great fries, tasty tarter that didn't seem out of a bottle. Hubby still had room for dessert so hechose a chocolate peanut butter pie, he loved it and other than the fake whipped topping it seemed homemade too. Severalhomemade pies were available. The only place locally that I like to eat. I recommend the Ruben or the French Dip. The Cuban was not really a Cuban and is no... longer on the menu but it was my favorite sandwich. Breakfast is also excellent. The staff is also above par, with great serviceand a friendly attitude. I have never been disappointed and have been eating here for 4 years. Thanks guys and gals. We've enjoyed a couple of meals at Gateway. The waitresses are always pleasant and easy to communicate with. Food was served in... great time, hot and delicious. The Gateway has a great relaxing atmosphere. Swing on down highway 95 ,stop in Gateway kick backand enjoy a good meal. Third time I had Breaded Cod Basket and Pat the Breaded Shrimp Basket our friend had Soft Taco all threedelicious. Read more
After a long day at work 5 of us came rolling in there around 7:20 ( they close at 8) Our server was super patient and very... attentive to our needs. Food we ordered was really great, all of us cleaned our plates and we were not left wanting. Of coursewe were there passed closing and at no time did we feel like we were being rushed. Im only giving a star because at least we got lemon in our water with no refill.. Keep trying to give this place a chance but 3... strikes and your out.. food was cold and under cooked again.. actually asked them to cook our hamburger steak again and stillcame back pink and I think they just microwaved it.. very disappointed!! My hot Turkey was a cold soggy sandwich even with thegravy on the side, asked for grilled onions and mushrooms and onions were crunchy and just barely warm and mushrooms weren?teven cooked and mashed potatoes were cold and vegetables were very undercooked and rubbery, definitely frozen.. at least mygravy was warm because they microwaved it because it had the cooked layer on the top.. I had some time to kill so I popped in for a bite to eat. The place was pretty empty so I was seated immediately. My server,... Jodi, was very attentive and kind with a warming smile. I was craving a burger so I opted for the Bacon Cheeseburger with alittle nudge from Jodi. She stated that the patties were hand formed and assured me that their bacon was delicious. A short 10minutes later my food arrived. The shiny toasted bun and the stack of fresh lettuce, tomato, sliced onion and pickles made meexcited to build it! A bonus we're the crisy fresh cut fries! Accompanied with house made fry sauce. The perfectly seasonedburger, fresh veggies and soft bun was exactly what I was craving. All in all I had a great meal.
