Good foods found in this diner at the Idaho State University. We ordered the chicken egg Benedict and the NW combo crepe found... on their first page menu. Passing through for work and stopped at Elmer's for the first time. It was SO good! The omelet and hash browns were full of... flavor and then I had a pancake to top it off. We came here on purpose after eating here years ago. No complaints about food or coffee. Prices seemed to be what's expected now... with good portion sizes. Husband ordered blueberry pancakes with a good number of blueberries and the pancakes themselves weregood. I ordered the potato cakes, just 2, but so filling that I couldn't eat both. It's nice that the items like pancakes andwaffles come with eggs and choice of meat. Waitress asked if he wanted just the pancakes, so that must be an option, but theprice on the menu was for the combo. Most customers seemed to be locals and this appeared to be a favorite place which probablymeans that they don't notice some things anymore, like the condition of the restaurant and restroom, which could benefit fromsome updates. We sat in the second booth and I had to sit closer to the window so that I wasn't sitting in a hole left by brokensprings or something. Presentation of food, like sour cream placed attractively, is important. Ambience of a restaurant isimportant. The total package is important when it is getting more expensive to eat out and when there are a couple of competingrestaurants with reviews that are enticing. Read more

The stuffed hash browns were great! Not hash browns from a bag, homemade! The stuffed potato cakes were yummy according to my... wife. I had the marionberry syrup on the pancakes was fantastic! Service was great! Definitely a do again restaurant. Read more

Amazing food and wonderful staff. The owner is just as busy and involved with the customers as the great staff. He leads by... example and is very courteous. His kitchen manager is amazing and leads the team and you can really tell everyone loves theirwork. The food is absolutely amazing and the environment is so positive and friendly. Read more

We had a group gathering here and it was a good experience. The staff was amazing! The food was really good. I thought the... salads were a bit small and the fish and chips could have been less soggy, but overall everyone enjoyed their meal. Ourwaitress, Emily, was quick and efficient. Our drinks stayed full and she was attentive. She rallied everyone to sing happybirthday to my dad which was a nice touch! We were grateful we could make a reservation in the back room with the fireplace.Elmers has a nice hometown diner atmosphere. Read more

The cinnamon roll pancakes were yummy. I thought they would be cinnamon rolls cut up and they weren't. Super filling with eggs... and sausage. The bacon avocado burger was good. You couldn't really taste the bacon. The onion rings were crispy. The fish wasokay, but you can't expect much for fish in these places. Would definitely go again. Read more
