Driven past a bunch of times and finally decided to try it. We were glad we did. I love seafood, hubby doesn't. It's often hard... for us to agree on new restaurants. Not today! 3 soft crab platter was fabulous and reasonably priced. Good fries and slaw.Hubby had the classic burger with sweet potato fries and coffee. He liked everything. Is it a restaurant? Is it a sports bar? Is it a liquor store? Yes. Yes. Yes. Don?s is just north of the Maryland-Virginia border... on US 13, south of the intersection with US 113. Don?s is one of the nicer dining establishments on the route. There is an ampleparking lot. When we arrived, it was a few minutes before an employee took note of us to seat us at a table. It seemed to methat the tables could have been better arranged for more easy transit through the dining room because it felt like navigating anobstacle course to reach our booth. Despite its name as a ?seafood and chicken? restaurant, they have an extensive menu of ribs,steaks, and salads. Although gluten free items are not denoted on the menu, it is fairly easy to predict which items containwheat, though this is an area for improvement on the next menu revision. Our food was decent, although I think that the ?ChoppedSalad? was overprices at a base of $8.99, although the protein upgrades were priced reasonably. The salad itself was a fair sizebut nothing spectacular. It was served with only one ramekin of dressing and the size of the salad bowl called for two. Servicewas friendly and attentive. Great spot! Conveniently located on the main highway. Great service. Very attentive waitress. Really yummy treasure island drink... made with my favorite liquor Captain Morgan. Ordered sirloin and fried shrimp. My steak was over cooked (ordered medium and itwas well done) Came with 2 sides. I got Caesar salad for small up-charge and sweet potato fries. My boyfriend got hush puppiesand mashed potatoes with optional gravy. We also ordered the chicken tender appetizer which is breaded with the consistency offish breading. Really great! Highly recommend. Will definitely be back. Too full for dessert but their case had quite a varietyof choices so we will try one next time. They also have a nice liquor store by the front left which is fully stocked withbottles and novelty items. Read more
It was definitely worth the trip from Norfolk Virginia , it was difficult to what to get , so I decided on the seafood feast ( I... haven?t had fresh seafood in some time especially Maryland Crab ????
