I went there for lunch on Friday to see how the pizza was. It says it is NY style pizza and being form NY I had too see if it... was. I ordered a slice of regular cheese pizza and grandma?s original marinara. The regular slice was very good with a nicecrispy crust and nice brown bottom which is what you want. The sauce was tasty and cheese was good I really enjoyed it. Thegrandma?s was not what I expected, in NY I would order a grandma?s slice which has tomatoes, fresh garlic, basil, parmigiana andolive oil with no cheese. Bala?s had sauce and cheese and it tasted like a Sicilian slice and is something I don?t care for. Tome it was too cheesy and tasted salty. I?m sure most will like it but like I said i don?t care for it. Overall the pizzeria wasclean bright and I really enjoyed the regular slice. I?m sure all the other food is good and I will visit again to have a sliceand try something else. Read more
Excellent pizza! Family owned. The pizza tastes like authentic New York pizza! The mamas pie is a MUST try. I highly recommend... trying this place- best pizza in town. Tiramisu & cheesecake both delicious. The tiramisu is fresh,soft, full of flavor - amust try. Read more
I visited Bala's last night and was welcomed kindly by the staff. The place smelled amazing of course and I made my pizza and... drink choices. The woman behind the counter and I had a very nice conversation while my food was being warmed and eventually washanded my food to be on my way. I ended up doing carry out since I was short on time. The place is a little small but theyreally know what they're doing. I took my first bite of the first dripping garlic knot and was immediately filled with hungersatisfaction. I was skeptical of the pizza because I know many places can make them too salty or oily. I was taken off guardwith how well the flavors were put together. Truly NY Style, Nearly No Flop, best crust I've had in the since Tommy's closed. Born in the Bronx, I have been to Bala's 3... times in 4 weeks. As soon as I walked in I knew this would be a great pizza. We took Dad, sister and brother here today. Perfectpie! You really need to try this place. Giving the benefit of the doubt on this review. It would be such a shame to have your score drop due to lack of customer... service, and not the flavor a d quality of your food. We called in our order, first time customers. We were told it would beready in 30 min. We waited over 20 min after we arrived, and instead of being honest and saying they forgot to put in our order,they acted like it would just be a couple more minutes. Please take my advice- honesty will always get you further in thisbusiness. A simple apology goes a long way. Don?t try and cover up and lie, it always makes it worse. People make mistakes. Weare all human. I personally would have offered the garlic knots on the house. That all being said, it was amazing pizza.Everything was cooked wonderfully. The sauce tasted fresh and made from scratch. Extremely happy with the food. I hope thisbecomes our new local pizza ?go to?. Trusting the next time we order will be smoother. Read more
Really could not wait to get in and try this tasty pizza parlor. So many praises and most of it exceeded expectations! Marinara... sauce, Florentine slice and meatball parm slice was absolute favorites! Oh and that cheesecake! Got a gourmet calzone stuffedwith quality ingredients and very tasty sausage! Good Fellas did not disappoint! Also ordered an anti pasta salad. Meats are notonly quality but you received quantity! Really the only complaint was our calzone was definitely over cooked. I would have giventhe experience a 4.5 if I could but decided it was worthy of a 5 more than a 4. I think if you try it you will agree! Happytummy ?? Read more
