Locals rave and with good reason. The food was exactly as raved about. My hankering for fried fish was definitely satisfied.... Everything on the plate was well seasoned and flavorful. Tonight was our second time for dinner at Brothers, and it is now confirmed to be our favorite in Punta Gorda and Port... Charlotte. Ordered the paella, and they ran out of rice, so Chef Max offers to make a pasta paella instead. Here's the secret:if Chef Max offers you a pasta, TAKE THE OFFER! Outstanding combination of flavor, perfectly seasoned, brilliantly presented,and everything you can hope for in a dinner experience. Don't judge a book by its cover. Absolutely way beyond what I expected. This was an high-end menu hidden in a small strip center... cafe. The extensive, ever rotating menu delivers great flavor and variety that any seafood lover would be impressed with. Thecrab and seafood cake offered an overload of fresh fish and shrimp and was nothing like I've ever tried. The service wasphenomenal!! The server took our order shortly after we arrived, even though they were really busy and she was the only server. The decor is... really simple and it's not really a noticeable place but we knew it was across from Gatorz on 41. They serve beer and wine. Thereviews are really good, so I was excited for some great seafood.. We ordered lobster bisque, grilled haddock and crab cakes.The couple next to us seemed pretty restless and eventually mentioned to the server that the table of 5 in the front was eatingeven though the couple had arrived earlier. They had a plate in front of them with one bit of food when we arrived butapparently it was an appetizer and their entrees arrived a good 45 minutes later. I noticed that that the food for that fronttable slowly came out over a fifteen minute time frame. My lobster bisque came out and it was so hot that it blistered the roofof my mouth. We both thought it was really good - buttery, creamy and good flavor. We waited an hour, while one party walkedout, another party of 6 came in and was served quickly while we still waited. Finally after an hour, she brought peel n eatshrimp and fried shrimp. I told her it wasn't what we ordered. She left and came back and said " the computer says you orderedlobster bisque, peel n eat shrimp and the fried shrimp". We paid for the lobster bisque and our beer and left. They seemedunderstaffed, so I'm willing to wait longer for good food but I wasn't willing to eat something I didn't order or wait anotherhour for the correct order. Read more

Yesterday on the Eve of Christmas, we keep the Italian tradition of the Feast of the Seven Fishes! We call Brother?s Fish House... and spoke to Chef Max.
