We went here after lunch on Sunday. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. It was all fresh and hot. We tried the... Faddy o Brad, large hamburger between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. My wife got the Clucker chicken sandwich and my daughter thechicken wings. If I had one complaint it seemed like all the fried food tasted alittle burnt. Like the oil in the fryer neededchanged. Not to big of a deal but its worth noting. And with 3 pops and tip it was $90.00. Not a cheap lunch by any means but Imight try it again. Read more
I asked you young woman working at my hotel for a dinner recommendation, and she recommended this place. I arrived, and there... was an event going on outside with the street closed, and a live band with lots of people. Not wanting to party, I decided to goinside. It wasn?t super busy with maybe half of the tables full. A young woman carrying a bundle of wrapped silverware seatedme, but before I sat down I saw that the table hadn?t been wiped off, so I asked someone to do that. Even after it was wipedoff, it wasn?t in the best condition. The finish was coming off, and the surface was still a little sticky. I found theatmosphere to be loud, but I suppose it wasn?t inappropriate for an Irish pub. My server came by and told me that he would beback after he took care of the large table that was nearby, and then if you want. It seemed a long time till he came back, but Ithink he may have been the only person serving tables. There was another young man milling around, but I think he was the busboy. I found the menu a little pricey. What isn?t these days? The local perch dinner was $33, but it looks like the best optionon the menu. It was served with their homemade potato chips and coleslaw, but I traded out the chips for tater tots. I can?t sayI was super impressed. The fish still had the skin on, and it was kind of tough along edges, and everything seemed greasy. Thetater tots were the frozen variety, and nothing to write home about. I?ve had far better better perch before. I was hungry andtired, so I ate it. By the time my server made it back to me I was ready for my check. Aged well in the 4 to 5 years since I have been back, strong showing and new menu is excellent
Best Reuben near Lake erie I have ever had... cucumber long Island was interesting (made with cucumber vodka) hmmm ... also... tator pucks had the best bacon jam I've ever had. They were filled with potatoes and havarti cheese. The potato chips werehomemade and delicious. Jimmy wasn't completely impressed with the Buffalo chicken wrap wasn't anything special but still good.The cole slaw was good with the wrap and had great flavor. We will go back again. Read more
5/5/22 went to dinner at 6pm this Friday night. I was hoping for a menu that had some healthy options other than salad. Same ole... bar food. My husband ordered a perch sandwich with coleslaw. (Being 100 yards from Lake Erie) Fries came with it as well. Thewaitress delivered the food, no ketchup, no salt or pepper. My husband got up and went to find ketchup. When the waitressreturned, much later, he asked for salt and pepper for his coleslaw. She went to get it and never returned with it. He askedanother waitress and she got it immediately. My husband looked at his fish and said "this is not perch" he took a bite andthere was no flavor. He told the waitress, it was a white fish. She left and returned well after we were done eating only tosay "it's Canidian perch" My husband absolutely knows his fish , especially perch. They were not serving perch. They passed offsome unflavored white fish as perch. Just be aware if you go. Read more
I love the location of MCcarthys. Our second time there. We had the Madison Salad, Irish Nachos and a Ruben Sandwich with the... big winner going to the Irish Nachos. The Ruben failed to impress me with the wrong style of rye bread and it wasn't grilledproperly and way to many chips and no pickle anywhere. The Madison Salad was good but would taste better with a different saladmix.... mesculine is over used. Overall a very clean place and friendly service. My overall rating is a 8.1 Read more
