What attracted me to Schofields Bistro was when I saw Beef Tenderloin Medallions on the menu. This is a dish I rarely find on... any restaurant menu and I just had to try it! The restaurant is only open for the supper hours on Wednesday to Saturday: 4:00 ?8:00 pm (Sundays 10:00 am ? 7:00 pm and closed Mondays & Tuesdays), so we arrived around 7:00 on a Saturday evening hoping tomiss the main supper crowd but still leave enough time for our meal. We were not disappointed. One of the two ladies serving thetables had us seated at a cute table for two in quick order. The seats were padded and very comfortable. The place has a warm,wonderful atmosphere with nice décor. Service was friendly and timely and the food came out to the table more quickly than wehad anticipated! We started with a shared Caesar salad and the chef kindly divided it into two plates for us. It was delicious.The dressing seemed homemade and salad featured real pieces of bacon and shaved parmesan cheese. My wife ordered the SchofieldsGourmet Burger and was amazed at the relatively large size of the patty! She was very happy with her dish. I, of course,ordered the Beef Tenderloin Medallions with demi-glaze, garlic button mushrooms, mixed vegetables, and garlic mashed potatoes.It was even better than what I had expected. The meat, which I ordered medium, was done to perfection. The meat was so soft,tender, and tasty! It was simply divine! We will definitely be back and plan on both ordering the medallion dish this time. Oh my. We had reservations and had a great table right in the front window. Our waitress was fantastic, very knowledgable and... a good sense of humor. Now for the food-unbelievable- it was SO good. Food: great. Service: atrocious. Wait staff were seems to have a heightened sense of unnecessary judgement. This individual was... condescending, and entirely unhelpful. This came as a surprise for a town where we have had nothing but incredibly friendlyindividuals and interactions in Port Dover. Skip and use your $$ to support another local establishment. Read more
I love the staff here ! She made my day, even though it was raining heavily as we drove from Waterloo and never been to port... dover before , we just randomly picked a restaurant and it?s amazing . We ordered an appetiser and also a fish and chips, toshare. She assisted us in dividing two plates of French fries and each dish had a fried fish, even though we didn't ask her todo so, she knew we were going to share it and made us feel like they actually care about their customers. Such an amazing restaurant! Warm and friendly staff. Our server regularly checks and refills our coffee. Crab cake benny is... absolutely delicious! We also tried corned-beef hash and peameal bacon & eggs. Good portion. Will definitely be back if we?re inPort Dover! Read more

I recommend this restaurant. We had the best quesadillas we have ever had anywhere. Lots of cheese and chicken. Full of... wonderful mushrooms that were cooked just right. The sweet potato fries were perfect, hot, and crisp. The soup of the day waspiping hot, thick, and flavourful. The portions were large. Service was excellent.
