Almost 9pm Friday evening We were promptly greeted by a hostess, who walked us to our table. Our server Nolan, was friendly,... attentive and a very good waiter. He instantly made connection with relevant conversations and helpful guidance. It was anenjoyable experience, for two very hungry people. We had: Sweet Carolina Pulled Pork topped with homemade coleslaw and Sonny'sSignature Carolina Sauce on a bun. Brisket sandwich on garlic toast and added sauce at the table. Fantastic BBQ place! The coleslaw and garlic toast were great compliments to the meat. Pulled pork and ribs were my favorite on... the plate. The smoke flavor and BBQ sauces are great, I would definitely recommend! My only criticism would be that the labelson the BBQ sauces at our table were all worn out so I couldn't read them, this did impact my experience being a first timer. Read more
My best friend told me yesterday about this wonderful burger at Sonny’s. So today I went online ordered a steak burger that... clearly states it comes on a bun with cheese of your choice, lettuce tomato and onion. Totaled almost $19 with tip. I droveaway and once i got to my sisters house in holly hill i realized there was only cheese on the burger and no “fixings”. Icalled and spoke to person Liam that answered the phone who told me they only give it if you request it. So i read him thedescription from the website that clearly says it comes with it. So he said he’d get a manager. I didn’t get the managersname but I’m sure it’s easy to figure it out since this was literally 20 minutes ago 5:00 pm 8/13/22. The manager asked whatthe issue was and i told him my order was incomplete and i had made it almost to Ormond but I wanted my burger replaced. He thensays “oh so you want a whole burger”. I was so shocked i asked him to repeat that. So he just says let me get your name. Atthis point I’m just shocked at the audacity since I AM A PAYING CUSTOMER that did not get what was advertised… so I askedwhat would he normally do since he obviously was implying that me suggesting it be replaced was out of the norm. He tells me“we normally just apologize and move on”. At this point I no longer want to speak to him nor patronize this business. So Ijust hang up and tell him to forget it and I just won’t come back. I did try to call back to get his name but they would notanswer the phone. Customer is always right??? Not here! And it’s about the principle of it. I paid for what I ordered. Something different than the normal ended up here. My girlfriend has never had fried okra She absolutely loved it. We both... ordered the sampler Everything was great and really did not need any extra sauce. Derrick our server was above and beyond. Read more
Good food overall, and friendly service. If you order drink they will offer to put it in a takeaway cup for you since they are... so huge. The ribs had really good flavor. Chicken was moist but a bit bland. Sliced pork is forgettable, and pull pork wasgood but definitely need sauce to go with it. I would go back again. As I suspected there were not a whole lot of options for a vegan or vegetarian however there were enough to satisfy anyone's... appetite. My son absolutely loved the brisket! As for me I fell in love with the corn nuggets and the corn on the cob and thecornbread! The sauces are amazing as well. The price was reasonable and our server was delightful. Food was fresh and customer service was perfect. The lady checking us out was doing an amazing job. She was training a new... employee and was so kind and patient. When an order was messed up she explained to the new guy with such respect and had ittaken care of right away. It's good to see great customer service and patience in today's crazy world. Read more
Food was typical Sonny's fare, tasty enough but nothing special. Brisket sandwiches were a bit on the anemic side with more... cheese than meat but that seems to be the norm at most restaurants these days even though the prices continue to be raised. Theserver working take-out counter, Matt, was courteous & super efficient. We stopped in to place our order & were out the door injust under 10 minutes which was greatly appreciated. Read more
