We were supposed to dine at our favorite Le Relais de Venice L’Entrecôte in Manhattan to celebrate my husband’s book... release but Google told us they were closed (?) , and found this hidden gem in Port Washington! We had a reservation for 5:30pmbut arrived at 5, glad we were early because the place was packed by the time we were enjoying dessert. Truly enjoyed theservice & delicious dinner from the cocktail ???? French Martini, Calamars Framboise for Hors d’ Oeuvres (was dying to try theBurrata Salad but since my husband can’t eat cheese, we picked the calamari instead) , Entrées (Steak Frites, Macaroni AuGratin & Duck) and of course le dessert (Creme Brulee, Chocolate Mousse and Chocolate Ice cream) . When you can not get to France fast enough, drive to La Petite Framboise! Oooh la la, from the moment you walk in, you feel like... you have been magically transported to a Paris bistro. The aroma matches your expectations. As I have had the good fortune tovisit France several times, I can honestly say, the chef offers an authenticity you will be impressed by and a meal you willimmensely enjoy. Among my traditional favorites are their Onion Soup gratinéed, Duck à l'orange,  Onion Tart, andProfiteroles. For Brunch, they offer a delicious and decadent variety of dishes that will make your visit a top gastronomicalmemory! The French bread is crusty on the outside and soft and airy on the inside and you will have a hard time resisting it.They also have a nice wine selection so enjoy it with a slice of their bread.! The ambience of the place was just right. Owner/host greets everyone at the door. It was a Friday night and my birthday. We... found this French restaurant on Google. Had a definite bistro feel to the place. Started off with escargot and calamari. Thecalamari was lightly breaded and tasted so good you didn't need the sauce, which wasn't bad but I prefer sweet/spicy blends formy calamari. Dinner was shrimp and scallops for me and hangar steak for the wife. I enjoyed mine very much unique blend ofsauces and diced vegetables. Neither of us liked the hangar steak. Was too tough and cut too thick to enjoy it. Next time shewill try the NY strip! Overall a great experience and will definitely come back again. Note the drinks are great. Raspberrymartini is literally to die for...You can order wines by the glass or bottle as well Although Google gives it $$ marks it'scloser to $$$. Definitely recommend this place if you want to experience not just good French cuisine but the feel andatmosphere of a cornerstone bistro on any Parisienne street. Read more
