My wife has an accent, right away there was judgment and bad attitude by the owner's wife taking the order. I took over... figuring she would get better, I have no accent. In fact, I was raised around Port Washington my entire life. I DO, however, still have dark hair and features like my wife. But no change, in fact, she added a sandwish to my order in error that I didnot need and so I simply asked for a correction in a warm and polite way. Because lets face it, this is small potatos in life.No big deal. Well, not for her. This seemed to ruin her day. Even her husband caught word of the commotion and came to the frontto give us a dirty look. Same terrible attitude. I even watched her walk to the cooking staff and inform them of the "voided"item as she rolled her eyes. Once she noticed I caught her doing that she turns to me and says "we were able to void yourorder". As if I put her out and did something wrong. It's a sandwich order change, can't possibly be outside their jobdescription. I own businesses and am a small business consultant. There is no reason she should be the front person for thisrestaurant. Poor leadership, bad culture, blatent discrimination if you are anything different she is. Aging, foreign, darkfeatures, purple, blue... do not support this business until they make great strides to change. Look at all the 1 stars. Theyare there for good reason and there are A lOT. I'm surprised they still show 4.4 stars. The food was average in taste and aboveaverage in price and not worth the terrible energy we were sent off with for the holiday weekend. I am not mad or angry. I feelempathy for their poorly run enterprise because I know how tough it can be. They are lacking business awareness and emotionalintelligence. First time here while visiting the area, was really hoping for a good sandwich & soup. It took 10 minutes in line to put my... order in, which I understand as it?s a very busy area. After my order was put in it took over 20 minutes to get my order. Myentire party all received their orders, plus everyone in line that ordered after us received theirs. When we finally got ourfood it appeared to have been hastily assembled. The sandwich had a few slices of corned beef and a smear of dressing. It lookednothing like I see in other reviewers? photos. Stopped by the Dockside Deli at the harbor in Port Washington on Saturday (7/30) afternoon. A really nice location on the harbor... with a beautiful view on the lake side patio. It was super busy but, the staff was friendly and courteous and the service wasefficient. I had the rueben - nice crunchy dark rye, tasty corned beef and swiss with tangy Russian dressing - a very goodsandwich - with chips and a drink. I'd highly recommend stopping here for a nice quick bite - not only for the good food andservice but, also for the lake side patio dining - super casual and reasonably priced - we'll definitely be back the next timewe're up in Port Washington. First and last time here. The cashier was EXTREMELY rude, I?ve never seen anything like it. She claimed we cut people in line... and then proceeded to yell at us for ordering too quickly. When we brought up that I had a food allergy she cut me off,literally waved her hands and replied ?yeah yeah?. I was stunned and disgusted with this kind of service. Great service, beautiful tables by the dock and good food. They even have gluten free toast which opened up a lot more options!... Four stars on the food because my wife ordered fried eggs and they were almost uncooked. She's order them over hard next time. Read more
Standard Deli. Big menu. Fast Service. The views of the Harbor outside are very nice. The food is good, filling, but not... overwhelming. One odd thing - the offer to upgrade your sandwich with a soda and bag of chips for $2.25 is a huge cheat to thecustomer. No problem with folks making money, but try not to be so obvious. Read more
Delicious, friendly, popular spot in downtown Port Washington. Order at the register and grab your food when it?s ready.... Excellent breakfast and lunch menu with a wide array of tasty sweet treats. A fetching space to grab coffee and gab. Bright andnatural light, comfy diner atmosphere, and some fresh surprises - like the banana chocolate chip bread pudding. Great localreputation. Read more
I can?t say enough about the Dock Side. The quality of food was excellent! The service was outstanding. I had catered platters.... I said I would pick up at noon. I was running late and forgot to call to let them know. I arrived after closing. I called Scottand he sent a member of his staff to open up and get my order.
