It is said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If this is something that you agree with, then check out this... location in Portage la Prairie. My guest and I both ordered the same breakfast special with our own variances of how the eggsand toast were to be prepared. The food arrived in a reasonably acceptable time and was served hot. The coffee was the mainselling point for me. I've eaten at many restaurants and typically find that most will claim that "they" have the best coffee.(This includes McDonald's, Tim Hortons, etc) Sadly, I cannot agree with their sentiment. Coffee should be drunk black. When I'mvisiting a café or eatery, I will have cream and sugar available, should the coffee fail to meet my standards. This was one ofthe rare occasions when the coffee was more than acceptable to drink with no additional additives! I've been to Chicken Chef lots as I do business in rural Manitoba. I've bought it for myself and my clients. Today I ordered 16... Salt and Pepper wings from the Portage La Prairie location as I wanted to eat them on the highway. I opened them up and wowwere they terrible. I've had some real bad wings in my life but these were by far the absolute worse. 3 of them were actualnormal wings and the rest were batter with almost no meat and the bones were all breaking and there was no salt or pepper onthem (at least I couldn't tell) $22 with a small bottle of warm water. What a complete rip off. For that price I was expectingsomething of quality. Dine in service is good. Chicken was little salty. Onion rings was delicious. Only problem that I notice is we don't get bucket... chicken for dine in. Its only available for takeout.
