Our 1st time there, pretty disappointing. The dirty rice was dry, the second batch was dry, the 3rd attempt was edible. The... hush puppies tasted like they were soaked in grease and left they to soak up the grease, I couldn't eat them. The cat fish wasdelicious and juicy, just like I like it. The tartar sauce was not good, it didn't have much flavor besides the flavor ofmayonnaise. The iced tea..... wow, what a failure!!! Who screws up on making iced tea, unless it was fountain tea, which itmay very well been because it was all water, no flavor, not sweet at all. The ice inside the glass wouldn't even get it coldcold. The steak was undercooked. The baked potato was small, and they charge extra for that. The cole slaw was ok but I didn'treally like it. The cabbage was cut into thick tiny sized squares and loaded with mayo that was so heavy you couldn't reallytaste the cabbage. There were not that many people inside this place, at 6:30 pm, and we now know why. The service was good, the waitress tried really hard to make it a good experience for us. We will not be going back there again though. There is nodesert menu btw. There is a full bar there, not sure what that was like though. Stopped by with my family for dinner! From the time we were seated, we felt welcomed. Our waitress, Brandy, and her trainee,... Autumn, were exceptional. We couldn't have asked for better service. The food was phenomenal. We ordered catfish and shrimp. Thecatfish definitely tasted like Mississippi Farm raised. The cornmeal batter was delicious. My son had the steak fingers, andthey were top notch. Everything about this place was great. I wish I had enough room for dessert. I vote Brandy/Autumn forEmployees of the Month. Read more
Initial service wasn't too great, but the waiter that took our table apologized and did an excellent job. My husband received a... well seasoned, decent portion of steak cooked exactly medium rare to his liking. My regular sized chicken fried steak's (approxsize of oval dinner plate) breading was well seasoned, with a good portion of gravy and not overcooked so more on the tenderside. If in the area, we will consider stopping back by to try something new on the sizeable menu. Read more

We stopped coming here 15 years ago due to place always smelling like cigarette smoke while we tried to eat. We read recently... that Hofbrau Steaks was smoke free so we revisited. For the majority of our meal, it really was smoke free. However, due to theentryway doors remaining open, whenever someone was smoking outside the smoke blew back into the restaurant. Food wise, thefried pickles and fried okra were great. The country fried chicken with white gravy was spot-on. The alligator bites weren'tbad. The french fries were perfect; crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Unfortunately the steak was only okay. It wascooked correctly but was simply lacking much flavor. We will come back again for the chicken fried chicken and to try thechicken fried steak. Read more
Very big portions and good customer service. Local western-style restaurant with good reputation. No waiting time during our... visit. Plenty of parking. No vegetarian options other than sides. Read more
