Bar-staff was awesome. Helped name the cocktail of the day. Great drinks and a great time.

I used to love it here and the food and scenery are still specific. Lately they have been hiring young untrained waiters and... playing 2000s r&b. I hope they can turn this place around to the sexy speak easy it was once was. Left menus and plates to pileup on table Didn?t give silverware No knowledge of menu or drinks. Very slow service. Will not go back to this place ever. If your not their ?type? they treat you different. I?ve been there twice and got the same... treatment. After the first go around I figured maybe the servers were just having a bad day so I figured I would give it anothergo. Same result. Very condescending treatment. Took forever to get drinks. They were rude when we walked up to the bar to getanother drink from the bartender because it took 30 minutes to get a drink. Then to top it off after we had 3 drinks And wereordering another, the bartender cut us off and said why don?t we drink water before we had another drink. We were far from beingdrunk and were out celebrating and having a good time. To have someone regulate when and how I drink was a major turnoff. Afterrequesting another drink again and said we were not interested in water at the time he refused to give us another drink andpoured us water. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere. They claim this is a speakeasy but it?s really just aneighborhood bar. Until they change their approach to their customers and fix their staffs attitudes I would recommend notgoing. Plenty of other bars in Portland to visit. Don?t waste your time. Read more

The food was great, the service perfect, but what really sells it is the atmosphere. It literally feels like a hole in the wall... that you'd go to to escape from the world. If you go to Portland you need to check this place out. Read more

A hidden gem on Congress. It's a basement lounge/bar but has some amazing cocktails and yummy bar eats. They also have a full... meal menu during the dinner hours. Service is swift and friendly. The space is definitely darker and basement like but has lotsof charm and plenty of elbow room. You also won't find it to be too loud or obnoxiously chaotic. I love this place so much. Read more

My partner and I visited Portland for the first time and stumbled into this place on our first night. We ran through the... appetizer menu pairing it with exquisite martinis, crisp beers and phenomenal whisky from the extensive selection. A power cutCould not dampen our experience. If underground speakeasy style bars are your thing, look no further. We returned the followingnight as well. Read more

I loved this place so much I went two nights in row. They have excellent cocktails and service. The atmosphere is friendly and... low key, but also kind of dark and hidden away, like a Cheers and speakeasy mashup, but the lights are high enough that you cansee but you don't have to become friends with everyone if you don't want to. Both the indoor and outdoor seating are lovely. Read more

This place was found on a whim. Everything was booked so I found this and it was so cool. Reasonable prices for the food... quality. The chicken hearts were amazing...never thought I'd say that. It was 173 without tip for 2 apps, 3 main entrees, 1almond cake dessert, 2 bourbons, and 5 other beers. Price was incredible for all that we had. Read more
