The first time I went to Yosaku was in March 2020, the night before everything shut down. It was one of the best sushi... restaurants I have ever been to. Unfortunately it was many months before I got to go back. I try to visit whenever I am inPortland now. It is among the best places in Portland to eat, and in my top 3 favorite spots to get fresh sushi. You can't gowrong here, everything is excellent. I am a big fan of Wasabi, and theirs is very strong. The flavor is really nice too. Read more

Good sushi. Each person at our party got 3 to 4 different rolls. Good value for the price. Indoor ambiance is decent.

Very rarely do I find a Japanese restaurant that lives up to my expectations. I can confidently say that Yosaku meets my... criteria. I was the first person in line getting there about 15 min before opening time at lunch. Yes, there was a line to getin! Very popular. Great for families and kids. The waiter was kind enough to allow me to order the Nigiri dinner, even though itwas lunch time. The sushi was well presented and beautifully made with good rice to fish ratio. The rice was not too soft, norwas it too firm. It seemed to naturally conform to the fish and fall apart effortlessly in the mouth. The highlight of the mealwould be the sea urchin. It simply was fresh, smelled great, and exploded gently in the mouth. I will most definitely returnhere again when I am back in Portland. The sushi chefs were very friendly and kind and asked me how everything was. I sung themmy high praises. Read more

Super cool sushi bar. The food was great and the sushi artisans were incredibly fun to watch. Definitely want to go back!

Everyone from my work is always eating here for lunch, so of course I had to try it. I ordered the spicy tuna and the salmon... with avocado. The tuna color was so beautiful and it tasted amazing with some soy sauce! I also loved the flavor of the salmonwith the avocado! The tuna as not too spicy, but the perfect level for me. I was amazed at the great prices of the lunchspecials! This was such a treat and I savored every single bite! I will definitely be returning here soon for a filling lunch. Iam excited to try more of their menu as well! Read more

Stellar sushi and authentic Japanese food mixed with more modern fare. Great outdoor seating area that could use some gas... heaters, but we sat inside this time. You’ll definitely need a reservation as it’s always busy. The service was good andaccurate; no issues! The prices are in line with most sushi places in the area ($30 for a nigiri box with miso soup & salad).I’ve been here a couple times and will definitely be back! Read more

We were incredibly decieved by their photos. The service was not that great. Gyoza was terrible, it came out tough, looked like... it was from a frozen package and heated up in the mircrowave. The wrapping was tough. They offered to bring out another one, wasSLIGHTLY better, but still tough and inedible, and we ended up paying for it. We ordered a sashimi dinner but it looked nothinglike the photos. The sashimi itself was mediocre at best, and nothing to wait in line for. The sushi rolls were OKAY, nothing toreally write home about, and the presentation of the rolls seemed a little lopsided and rushed, although they came at a fairlydecent price when buying the lunch bento box.
