Never thought I would have authentic Lebanese food as good as my mom’s and even better! It is 100% like home and much better!... The service is wonderful, the quality is superb, decorations and style made me feel just like home. I came from California toPortland for a visit, and I was recommended by a friend to try out this restaurant, and I can’t be more thankful for thisrecommendation. We didn’t try anything that wasn’t good or that was just “ok”, everything exceeded expectations. Shadiserved us coffee and knefe on the house. Thank you so much El Hawr for the wonderful meal, I hope we get back one day. Read more

Someone told me this is the best Lebanese food in Portland but I disagree. It's the best Lebanese food anywhere! There is... beautifully styled decor with a relaxing atmosphere. A family owns the restaurant. A father and son, Chadi and Louai work thefront and the Mother is the chef. I didn't get her name but she is a gifted chef. Everything was so deliciously complex andbeautifully presented. The wine list was really great as well. A new favorite place for sure!! Read more

Oh how fun! Their bartender was out so the cocktail offerings were limited to those sounding too sweet. I was bold and was... rewarded. The house cocktail with fresh lemonade, mint, and orange flower was refreshing and fun. The Lebanese Breeze witha Lebanese absinthe-like liquor and date juice was likewise delicious and refreshing. I ordered the special braised lamb shankwhich came with saffron rice and was generous and spectacular! I ate every bite. Add in great service and a lovely setting, Ihighly recommend! Read more

One of the best Portland restaurant experiences I've had in 2022. Generous amounts of olive oil, garlic, lemons. Generous... portions of scratch made hummus, and even the fried spinach rolls were to die for. We ordered a ton of vegan-friendly optionsthat were all amazing including the lentil soup and sampler platter. In my opinion, the sampler platter is a must order. Theyhave a great full bar on hand, and full generous cocktails and local beer and big wine menu. Very impressive here. Located inthe ever-evolving and modern South Waterfront, the space is fresh and welcoming and open and modern and really comfortable andthe staff could not be nicer. I am hoping to go back once a week. Read more

One of the best Lebanese food in town. Ask for their yogurt drink, you'll not regret it .

Three of us ate dinner at Al Hawr the other night and had a wonderful experience. My brother had received a generous gift card... for his birthday so we feasted! The vegan options on the menu are plentiful and clearly marked with a VG label. Three of usshared the sampler platter for an appetizer. I am normally not very enthusiastic about tabouleh or grape leaves but they werequite tasty. I am a big fan of beets and the beet salad was fantastic. The hummus and baba ghannouj were great too. I had thefalafel for my entree. I could only get through half because I had so much of the sampler platter and pita, but it was amongstthe best falafel I've ever had. I will definitely be back! Came here for a friends birthday. Most of the food here was great. The chicken shawarma was really good and definitely suggest... making it spicy and you'll love it. The other dishes ordered were 1. Grilled Lahmu Filet Mignon - okay tasting. 2. Grilledchicken breast shish Tawook - these looked red but were less flavorful than the chicken shawarma. 3. Falafel - this wasaverage. I've also included the menus. Overall a good place to visit for nice experience. Read more
