Terrific sandwich place / bar in a neighborhood with other solid food options. Had the turkey club, really fresh ingredients and... perfectly done. Tater tots on the side which is always a great touch to offer. Folks I was with had great things to say abouttheir sandwiches and drinks. Certainly a place I would return to when in the neighborhood! Bunk is certainly something of a sandwich institution in Portland and is always a safe bet. I recently ordered a Roast Beef... sandwich which was the special for the day. At first I thought it looked a little small, but then I realized how tall it was! Itwas a very fine sandwich! And don't miss trying their "super secret recipe" Creole Cole Slaw. Solid. Came here on a Sunday, only a few folks, two pinball machines, open booths with weirdly nice tables. Super friendly and... slightly quirky bartender took our order, made weirdly good cocktails and brought out our bar food which was suspiciously betterthan normal barfood. This is the kind of place that first convinced me how awesome portland can be. Theres no reason this placeshould have such good food, cool people, or great drinks. But it does, and it made our day. On the verge of standard pub fare. Bunk used to be better. Had a turkey club and it was OK, nothing special really, but the... turkey was thick cut. Since when do you order a sandwich or a burger in a pub and it doesn?t come with some fries? (even thephoto from Bunk Bar from a year ago she was fries on the plate) A simple garnish would?ve been nice?sprig of parsley? If youorder a sandwich you get a sandwich on a plate, if you order a burger you get a burger on a plate. Thankfully, we ordered theloaded tots, but those aren?t as loaded as they used to be either. Maybe it?s inflation, maybe it?s Russia, maybe it?s Covid,maybe it?s door dash and Uber eats, but I definitely think there?s some cost cutting going on here. Read more
I was visiting Portland and I watch dive diners and restaurants and try visit those restaurants when I can. I had the pork... sandwich its was good nothing special but not bad either. Had the tater tots i don't give 5 stars very often I was expecting alittle fatter sandwich. Read more
Went to check this place out while in Portland. Really cool Bar deli. My Italian was amazing, meats were fresh hot peppers slaw... was delicious and the bread was perfect. Beautiful day to sit outside as well. It?s Portland so not a lot of parking on thestreet but it?s well worth it if you could walk or take your car. Either way cool fun place to catch a bite to eat.
