The best dining experience of my life. We went in November 2021 and took two friends as a wedding gift. We decided to splurge... and do the wine pairing. It was so amazing having the sommelier explain the wines with each course and they were some of thebest wines I've ever had. Every course was extremely flavorful and unique. We had duck as the main course, which had me worriedat first because I have never tried it, but WOW was it good. If you're looking for a place for a special occasion, go here! Andgood luck getting a reservation!! Read more

I love Coquine! A friend and I stopped by the cafe for lattes and cookies. They have an adorable market for food, wine, and... gifts. I will be back to try the restaurant! Read more

We did the four course prix fixe dinner and it was a truly lovely experience. I took the vegetarian option, which was equally... well thought-out and included its own wine pairing. The servers were incredibly attentive (but not too attentive!) and thesommelier was incredible- a true storyteller when it came to each wine, and we loved each story! Little touches made it a reallygreat experience, and I thought we received a truly fantastic meal and dining experience for the price. We'll definitely be backwhen the weather is nicer and we can sit on the patio! Read more

Loved the 4 course menu for dinner! Plus great wine pairings and extra little snacks. We will definitely visit again!

NYTs recently named Portland's Coquine one of the 50 most exciting restaurants in the country. (Although James Beard has been... nominating them and their wonderful Chef, since 2016!) The space was small, but darling and the service, absolutely impeccable. We did the Chef's Tasting Menu and wine pairings too. What a revelation. All of it. #worththewait #foodieheaven Read more

Update (Oct 2021): Came back to Portland with friends and our patio brunch at Coquine was as wonderful as I remembered. My... burger was juicy and flavorful. We shared a waffle that was so crispy and delicious that we immediately ordered a second one. Weall wholeheartedly enjoyed the lunch, and impressed by the quality of food and service at Coquine. Original (Mar 2021): I amblown away by the house smoked pastrami reuben sandwich I had during their to-go lunch. A fantastic dish that is simple yettasty, delicate yet unpretentious, made from just a few ingredients, you can almost taste its freshness and heartiness. Theprice is very reasonable for the quality of the food and their staff is just as friendly and attentive for to-go services. Read more

If you don’t like Coquine you are objectively wrong or you arrived after 2pm and forgot it was closed. This restaurant is... tucked away in a residential neighborhood and you would never know its quality from the unassuming exterior. Everything wasexceptionally good, especially the food. Even the bathroom - a stellar little modern quiet affair that only served to reinforcethis was a carefully curated small restaurant with a cute little grocery store attached (very little mind you). Relentlesslysustainable, this was some of the best food I ever had. This isn’t a burger joint and yet the fries were the best I’ve hadin my life. This isn’t a pancake house and yet they were perfect. It does everything that it tries very well. I wouldrecommend this to anyone even remotely in the area. No reservations though so just show up and bear the wait list if you must!At 1pm it was no wait, so that’s a hot tip for you, future reader of this post. Every item was meticulously flavored, exactlybe right temperature, the glassware was high quality, the decor was minimal but authentic and warm. Such a treat to dine here.:) Read more
