Small dive bar, good food in the kitchen and reasonably priced drinks. The back patio is large and has gas fireplaces to keep... warm in the fall. Read more

Of the 3 (or possibly more by now) locations these guys own this is by far the best. I have experienced my fill of all that is... tempestuous and wayward will not get your monotony here. There are a few parking spots designated for the tenants living on topof the bar. However, they are not well marked and if by accident you fail to get a glimpse of the invisible TENANT ONLY PARKINGsign and the tenant actually doesn't even have a car anyways so you park there... you better believe someone will hangout thatwindow and make sure you're aware that one day they might have a car and in the event that that one day might be in the nexthalf hour you must absolutely move your car immediately. We come here basically every weekend for their brunch. Chef is a master of his craft! I am partial to the chicken fried steak,... but everything is delicious (we've tried everything at this point). Drink menu has something for everyone! Read more

I've been there a few times. It's nice, a manufactured dive atmosphere that attracts Portland newbie cool crowd. Annoyed cause... I paid $7 for a well drink, maybe that was a mistake? People refer to Lay Low as a dive bar. There was an old school dive barthere, Costars, bought up by a Portland bar group that does this around town. They clean it up, decorate it a little better, market it to the cool kids who want to go all hip new spots in Portland and double the prices. Portland is full of sheep. Read more

Laid back atmosphere. 2 person staff like usual for this size of bar. Which is cool but when checking on an order of fried... pickles my friend immediately was shutdown with "I'm only one here" to then receive a wrong order completely after 35 mins afterordering. Food wasn't terrible but I saw the cook eating a chicken wing in the kitchen, wipe his hands with a paper towel and goback to grabbing chicken from the freezer. Read more

The perfect no-frills-corner-pub-slash-dive-bar. Stiff drinks, decent food, and friendly staff keep me coming back to this retro... tavern cavern. My only gripe is that smokers rule the patio. Wish, wish, wish they would just ban smoking back there, becauseit's a great patio. Read more

Lay low is a cozy dive bar nestled in the foster-powell area, I was greeted with cheerful customer service, timely drinks, and... some amazing comfort food. They have a diverse brunch menu and tidy patio area. I sat comfortably with my sketchbook and enjoyedmyself peacefully. I will definitely come back for another relaxing brunch. Read more
