Le Pigeon is excellent. I celebrated my birthday here and it was a great experience. We booked the Chef's counter seating after... reading numerous reviews recommending it and it definitely adds to the experience seeing your food prepped by the wonderfullytalented Chef's right in front of you. They are at it all evening firing appetizers to main dishes non-stop which is veryimpressive to witness. Being a Vegetarian, I got the Vegetarian tasting menu and my Partner ordered their regular menu. Thefood is scrumptious starting from the first appetizer dish all the way to the desserts. It's a well balanced yet flavorfulcombination of different ingredients and every dish packs a punch! We loved our experience at Le Pigeon and are looking forwardto visiting again. Highly recommend reserving more than a week in advance to get your preferred day, time and seating options.We saw quite a few people try to walk-in but the place is fully sold out almost every day and they don't accept walk-ins. We dined here almost a year ago and loved it. Now a year later it's still just as good as we remember. We had the vegetarian... tasting menu which started a bit slow, but built up to a great entree and one of the best desserts we've ever had. Hats off. Wewill definitely be back. Read more
The food is always excellent and the service is great. You prepay for your meal when you book your seating and must arrive... within 15 minutes of your reservation or else you'll lose it, however, the party before us sat at their table and had a fewdrinks after their meal. We waited for 30 minutes outside in the cold before the serving staff eventually told them they had toleave and we could be seated. When you prepay $600 for a meal and the restaurant has strict policies about tardiness I don'tthink it's appropriate to make your patrons have to wait that long for a table. Read more

This one is a tough one. Le Pigeon has a great history of being one of the most decorated restaurants in Portland. Sitting at... the Chef's table (like sitting at the bar) is a fun experience and the servers are really attentive and sweet. If you go withsomeone, get the main menu AND the vegetarian menu and you'll get more variety of dishes. There are some yummy dishes. I reallyenjoyed the non-alcoholic drink pairing (very creative). But there were also dishes that were just okay. And normally I wouldn'tcomplain, but for the reputation and the price Le Pigeon has, I feel like I can say something. And maybe it's because I watchedthe chef squeeze lemon, after lemon on all the dishes but a lot of the dishes tasted really sharp and it kind of took away fromsome of the great flavors that the dishes had. Personally I only... return for exceptional cause I often prefer my own cooking and the cost of eating out needs to be justified. Loved our experience here! Came here because they were the only fine dining place we found that had a vegetarian tasting menu.... It was absolutely divine! Excellent menu, excellent experience. We went with the reserve wine pairing for $75 per person on top of the pri fixe which was... delicious. The detail and balance of each course together was superbly complemented by some unique pairings. Each course gave usso much to appreciate and talk about.
